Get Your Easter Eggs Here

April 6, 2007
Hunting for Easter Eggs?

Forget looking behind the couch or under the rose bush.

The Easter Egg Archive chronicles thousands of hidden goodies from video games as well as movies, TV, music and books.

Here's just one example, from World of Warcraft:
When playing a Horde character at level 40 or above with 225/225 in your First Aid skill, travel to Hammerfall. Go to the Trauma Surgeon in the building to the left of the entrance. He will give you a quest in which you can gain Artisan First Aid. In this quest, you must run around and bandage dying patients. When dying, one of the patients says "Goodbye cruel world.. I'm leaving you today. Goodbye. Goodbye. Goodbye". This is a reference to Pink Floyd's song "Goodbye Cruel World" off "The Wall". These are the exact lyrics in the song.

Readers of site can submit Easter Eggs as well as rate those sent in by others.

UPDATE: Mike Musgrove of the Washington Post weighs in with more on Easter Eggs.

Floyd Pinkus, the Innkeeper in Hellfire Peninsula on the new expansion. That was an obvious one there...
well he didn't, and don't call him Shirley.
Shirley you should have credited the image you used for this post - it's the giant Pysanka in Vegreville, AB! Vegreville is located just over an hour east of Edmonton, AB.
[...] This seems like such a good idea I wonder why I didn’t think of it first.  Someone has created an Easter Egg Archive to list all the hidden tricks in games (and movies, and books, and music, apparently).  Go and contribute today. [...]
Hehe... Pink Floyd reference.

GoodRobotUs: The discussion was supposed to be whether games were dangerous not 'Do you find some games offensive'...

Andrew Eisen: VG cause violent behavior. VG companies influence behavior to get sales. Yeah, that makes sense. (To be fair, the Twitter feed makes deciphering JT's point pretty tough.)

Andrew Eisen: Yes, it's been proposed but as far as I know it has not been passed. Big difference.
