Jason Della Rocca, executive director of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA), dropped GamePolitics an e-mail to say that he will be interviewed by reporter Chris Jansing on MSNBC's Dayside program at noon (Eastern) today.The likely topic for Della Rocca's interview will be the AMA's move to classify video game addiction as a diagnostic disorder. But, as Jason pointed out in an e-mail:
Who knows if they touch on all the other fun topics [i.e., Manhunt 2] as well...
Full Disclosure Dept: Dennis McCauley, GamePolitics editor, is an IGDA member.

"CHICAGO - The telltale signs are ominous: teens holing up in their rooms, ignoring friends, family, even food and a shower, while grades plummet and belligerence soars.
The culprit isn’t alcohol or drugs. It’s video games, which for certain kids can be as powerfully addictive as heroin, some doctors contend."
In two quick paragraphs, our favorite hobby is consigned to the same realm as alcohol and heroin. There's been a few fatalies from video games (oh, Korea...) but to compare it to heroin, a drug that can kill a person who stops taking it? Ridiculous, fear-mongering rhetoric. At least the doctor at the very end of the story notes that too much game playing is usually a symptom of another mental disorder. Of course, that's buried at the end of the article.
@E. Zachary Knight:
Thanks for the link, it led to another link featuring an interview with Morgan Webb, my future wife! (She just doesn't know it yet)
