While tracking homebrew games for the Nintendo DS as part of a series on adult-themed games, DS Fanboy ran across RanAway, a crudely-made title which challenges the user to avoid gay "blobs".The game seems to play more like an 11-year-old's bad dream than anything specifically designed to promote anti-gay hatred. Rather, it takes the path of plain old ignorance and basic intolerance. With 8-bit graphics, the protagonist (a small naked stick figure, anatomically complete), attempts to avoid a bunch of pink blobs.
If your character comes into contact with the blobs, you are treated to the statement "You got hit by a gay person, Game Over" and a screenshot from the anime Naruto that shows two boys kissing (the scene portrays the usual slapstick of "tried to kiss the girl but missed"). The game praises you if you avoid the "gay mob".
The description from the author's website sums up the game's sophomoric ignorance:
They are out to get you! Run away to avoid the kiss of death! Use the stylus to move the little boy and try to avoid getting hit.
RanAway seems to promote the idea that gangs of homosexuals are roaming the streets looking to prey on, er, kiss, young, innocent boys. GayGamer wonders what's next:

The whole thing would be comical if it wasn't so sad and unfortunate. Sub-8-bit graphics aside, we have a ’little boy’ running away from gay men and their ’kiss of death.’ Sigh.
CM: Considering the game's simplicity and crudeness, and the author's description, it's likely not a social commentary, but rather just a badly made game created as part of someone's first attempt at programming for the DS, with a dash of offensiveness thrown in to get attention.

Correction on that, in that scene the characters, Naruto and sasuke were glaring at each other at a close distance when someone accidentally bumped Naruto, instigating the kiss.
In any case, this sounds like what the point was behind V tech rampage, none, it was meant to insult people, nothing more, nothing less.
Also I wish to make the following Disclaimer.
I'm a striaght male, and personally don't agree with Homosexuallity.
That being said, i was raised to respect the idea of tolerance to different ideas, and while your ideals my not be something I agree with, I don't think it's fair for me to tell you not to have them. As a matter of fact, I have had a few friends over they years who were openly gay and we never had issues so long as they understood that I wasn't and didn't push the issue.
I think this whole "Gay rights" thing is being blown out of all propoprtion, but not by the Gay rights people themselves, but by there opponents.
If you let them be, and not try to make social paraiahs out of them ,theres no big deal. I think thats the problem these days.
Leave them do what they do, so long as they leave the straight folk do what they do.

Most people have either learned to accept, to ignore, or something inbetween.
There are many sensible people who, even understand that homosexuals are are born the way they are. They did not chose to turn out that way, because it is not a choice you can make. If in doubt, you just go ahead and try to be attracted to the same sex for 5 minutes, I dare you.
If that was done to stir up some interest in the game ... that worked out pretty well.

It would be funny if someone made a a game of dodge or asteroids and called the things you dodge or shoot gaye, as in the diss,the reason why I would find it interesting is to see who comes out of the wood work to dissmiss the game and who would defend it.

Honestly, I hear rednecks talk about this huge gay agenda all the time. Apparently, homosexuals want to get married and adopt kids to make them gay, then start some sort of civil war. They justify this statement by saying "If a kid is raised by two gays, how will they NOT turn out gay?"

If you sexuality is based on your parents, how can gay people exist? If heterosexuals can birth a homosexual, doesn't that blow the theory out of the water?

As for the game, I kind of agree with some guy here, this wouldn't really be a story if GayGamer didn't comment on it and make it into a story, there's a slew of racist and homophobic games accross the interenet that no one knows or talks about because they're made by Little Jimmy "i know flash" Douchebag and posted on random sites where about 3 people play them. That being said, the whole thing sounds like a joke a 5th grader would find funny after learning what homosexuality is three days ago.

in the time it takes for females to evolve that way, the human race would go extinct. Oh and you do have your biology wrong, if the chromosone is truly shrinking, then men may (I say may because i don't know if this true) live shorter, but that doesn't mean they will be severly outnumbered by women, because the odds of having a male baby will always be 50:50, and you need a male to make a female (it's a catch 22 that keeps them in check).

Anyone who has been following it over the years have seen grossly negligent uses of the medium of either rom hacking or homebrew dev.

The "game" as it stands is just gross immaturity. People don't need to get bent out of shape over it.
If we are to defend games as speech we have to realize that there will be (and also required to be) unpopular games that deal with unpopular subject matter.
I get kind of irked when I hear arguments of "What if ____ comes next?". From a gaming perspective it is a very good first attempt at programming a game for the DS: areas that "auto kill" you while using a stylus for input to move.

It's astounding which pieces of Scripture people try to forget when it's convenient.
By the way, the tired old argument of "Thou shalt not sleep with another man, it's an abomination against god" (Little help on the chapter numbers, anyone?) is false. Study the original hebrew: "Thou shalt not layest with another man IN A WOMAN'S BED, it is ritually UNCLEAN". No sin here, just a few ritual clensings and tada, good as new.

Regardless of whether that is Jack or not (if it's not, good job mimicing him), I must ask that you not judge Christianity as a whole based on that comment. Jack (or whoever he is) is filled with hatred towards other groups of people, something that Christianity DOES NOT teach at all. There are many misguided Christians out there of which Jack is among them, but there are many who are not as well. Just as we should not judge people on their sexuality, please don't judge people based on whether they are Christian or not.
