Legal Blogs React to Jack Thompson's Gay Porn Court Filing

September 30, 2007
Here's a quick survey of what some popular legal blogs are saying about Jack Thompson's inclusion of gay porn with a U.S. District Court filing:

Above the Law: Practice Pointers: Do Not File Gay Porn With Judge Jordan
Best Line: (from comments) Been before Judge Jordan. Not the type of judge you want angry at you. I would expect a contempt order and stiff (no pun intended) sanctions.

Southern District of Florida Blog: How to Make a Federal Judge Really Angry
Best Line: It's almost impossible to get under Judge Jordan's skin, but Jack Thompson has found out a way to do so -- include graphic images of gay porn in his filings. This is no joke...

Overlawyered: Latest Jack Thompson Follies
Best Line: Longtime Overlawyered favorite Jack Thompson... to prove his (wildly off-topic) point filed several graphically pornographic photos with the court...

ABA Journal: Lawyer Angers Judge With Gay Sex Photos
Best Line: Jack Thompson's attempt to make a point about a gay news Web site has backfired badly.

Quiz Law: He'll Be Riding Six White Horses When He...
Best Line: Jack Thompson and Paul Revere: Two peas in a pod. American heroes. One warns that the British are coming, and the other distributes images of gay men c*****g.

Comments

You know, after reading this article I don't know how to feel. One part of me wants to pity Thompson, another wants to loathe Thompson even more, and another part of me wants to burst out into song over Thompson's eventually disbarrment.
Right so after reading what jack describes as the vital information that makes posting gay pornography rational (it doesnt).

it seems the entire crux of his defence against the judge is that this other lawyer who operates a private gay website that has links to gay pornography is worse than him and thus jack should get away with being an asshole.

COME ON JACK! youre a lawyer, admittedly a bad one but even you should realise how terrible a defence that is, the judge is right to ask for relevance because even if this gay business was criminal (which it isnt) it absolutely does nothing to diminish your misconduct in any way.

Really jack, at first I was annoyed by you, then I laughed at your antics (i still do) but now I'm just pissed off and I want you gone, not just because you mock the legal system and even the human race with your despicable behaviour but imply because its not fair for the anti-videogame side to have you. i may disagree with the stance but I'm all for rational debate and resolution, and it does them a disservice to be associated with a self obsessed ranting moron like you.

Your hatred and your despicable behaviour and attempts to stifle freedom have earnt you a place in hell, I pray that you can find a way to undo your hate jack, I really do.
I'm still confused how that letter, at any point, helped Jack's case in this entire ordeal? Someone please explain this to me, because I read it and a lot of it was tooting his own horn...
@DarkTetsuya:

He even gets a footnote?
Not a good idea there /b/rother...
Disclaimer: If I piss any of you who are religious off, please understand that I'm just making an analogue from my perspective, and that I do respect that you believe what you believe even though I don't actually respect what you believe.

JT reminds me of every Christian I have ever had the displeasure of arguing anything with. He believes what he says is true, and factual, simply because he believes it so. Like his believing in something to be detrimental, is the reason for it being detrimental. I get the same sort of reaction from Fundy Christians when discussing the Bible, "The Bible is the word of God, and I believe it to be truth." "Really here's 50 examples of how and why the bible has factual errors in it." *Fingers in ears* "BLAH BLAH IT"S THE WORD OF GOD!!!!!! IT"S TRUE YOUR WRONG AND GOING TO HELL!!!!" Jackie's the same way. He's so certain that he's in the right, that he's the persecuted one, and that everyone is just stupid and blind, even though we're the rational ones saying that there's no proof to his asinine claims and that he's really coming off as a complete nutter.

I've come to the point where I simply feel sorry for him. I pity his poor kid, and I really hope Jr's got himself a good therapist and goes by an alias at school.

As a Florida tax payer, and since there's no income tax in this state, any of you that have visited and bought anything are Florida tax payers, I'm disgusted by his wasting of tax money and court time on his crusades against obscenity and video games. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be any chance of him ever stopping. His disbarment won't prevent him from filing as a private citizen, and contempt charges will only vindicate him and make him a martyr in his own mind. I doubt any sanctions would even prevent him from being on TV claiming to be an expert on video game violence. Jacko, newsflash, using tragedies to defend a position that only ignorant people with no knowledge or experience with gaming hold doesn't make you an expert. It makes you a pig and a sicko. You prey on victims to further your cause and promote yourself. You should be ashamed. It seems though that we're stuck with you until you die of natural causes. Which sadly will probably be a long time, since I figure you're so oblivious to the world around you that you don't suffer from job related stress. "Ooh, the Federal court system wants to send me to jail for introducing gay porn into the public record, JT FTW!!! HOOAH!!!" Ponce.
"As a teenaged “Student Mayor for a Day” in my 3,000 student high school in my all-white Ohio town"

hmmmm methinks mr thompson might have a little racist problem
@ Nobody

You're just realizing this NOW?
Due to a change in heart I would like to withdraw my previous post.
If it wasn't established before, this reinforces the fact that Jack is the laughing stock of the legal community.
So Jack has untill friday to come up with a reason that justifies what he has done to the Judge right?
@RaZor
November 1st? I dont know where your shopping but I already see stores with entire areas devoted to christmas.
@Johnny

Just one thing I noticed on that site that I find very interesting: "Only registered users are allowed to post comments." Our friendly resident massacre chaser has registered himself as a user of the NGN site? As much as he raves about how much he hates gay people, I find that odd.

I do not think, however, that he will give up, even if he is disbarred. Did the US give up when Germany bombed Pearl Harbor? No! Did Rommel give up when his forces were stopped by the Great Wall of China? No! Did Alexander the Great let the Russian Winter stop him from sacking the Kremlin? No! Did the people of the Netherlands give up when Genghis Khan breached their borders and invaded Belgium? No! Jack will never give up, not as long as their are massacres to chase and more opportunities to make a fool of himself!
From the stupid letter he wants us to read:
"The obscenity trafficking lawyer’s lawyer has now written me and told me that I should
be “ashamed” of myself for “trafficking in obscenity.” I am receiving death threats at
my home because this judge decided to handle this this way. I received a packet at my
home, through the mail yesterday, from a gay sex advocacy organization on how to
“come out of the closet.”"

ROFL
@ DarkTetsuya

Which episode?
So Jack thompson has added gay news sites to sites he trolls. Heh.....
Ahh in that letter hasn't JT done the porn evidence thing all over again with the Howard Stern statement? There was no need at all to quote Stern's statement and requesting that GP make the letter public? he could have referred to the case and the circumstances and results of the case but quoting twice just seems reckless, the recipients of the case could have looked up the quote if needed.

I don't know how JT can defend himself in this, by including the porn material in a submission that is publicly available he became guilty of the same crime he was complaining about, but he went even further he was supplying the material first hand. Damn i wonder how he can use a quote from the bible to get out of this one.
Jack is srewed
Quizlaw wins this round I think :)
I have to agree Chuma, Quiz Law said it best.

Wow, is Thompson's boat sinking fast or is it just me?
Looks good, I wonder if Judge Jordan will accept my "crime is punishement" defence for poor Jack Thompson.

Quizlaw does win the round, indeed.
I've been wondering for a while, can the comments JT has made here and elsewhere come into play at all in a professional misconduct suit? The comments he made a few weeks back about Gamerdad (In the initial post about the heart attack) disgusted me so much, I get a sick feeling in my stomach every time I hear JT's name now. That act alone is concrete proof to me that there is something deeply wrong with JT.

Now we have this which is something that no rational person would do, especially if they are on the verge of losing their legal license. The only conclusions I can draw are that he either thinks he is invincible, or wants to lose his license. If the later, he must either think it will make him some kind of a martyr or it will give him an excuse to bow out without looking bad.

Of course, I am trying to rationalize this. Meh.
Dracis:

His boat is sinking, but he appears to be making more holes in it to let the water out...
No James. This is the internet. Where people can be fucktards in anonymity.

THen again, JT posts like an anonymous fucktard WITHOUT the anonymity.
@ DarrelBT:

Me and the /b/rethen of the pits of humanity are the examples of that, once anonymity is lost, the atitude is lost.

And Jack Thompson is going for "heat" (the übersite sense of it, not the flames).
The score so far: Dennis - 1, JT - -6.
Just as a curiosity, Dennis, any sign of any legal blogs that support John Bruce?

@nightwng2000

I doubt it. The internet isn't big with oxymorons.
I certainly am enjoying the fact that you all are enjoying yourselves with this amazing misreportage. Ask, if you want the facts, for Mr. McCauley to link to the letter to the Ad Hoc Committee that is in the court file. He has it. He won't share it, because it turns this entire thing into something that is a huge benefit to me.

If Your Censor in Chief here is so sure it does not, then he should link to it. Until he does, this thing is what it is: a hoax based upon a lie.

Jack Thompson

GP: if you feel that this yada-yada letter is important to your cause, who am I to stand in your way? so, here ...  My opinion, however, is that it's just like most other things you write, chest-beating, they're all out to get me, etc.

That you manage to hawk your book in the middle of the filing ( ...available at bookstores or on-line
everywhere)
is at once comical and disgraceful. Hoping to sell a few copies to the ad hoc committee members? Or simply bragging that you've written a book?

You seem to want to discredit Judge Jordan's order by making the point that a kid would need a credit card to access the federal PACER docket system and that would keep them out. But you made the opposite argument in regard to online sales of M-rated games.

Have you got one supporter in this ridiculous episode? Even one? Is there anyone, anywhere who gets the point you were trying to make in sending porn to the court, even after the Florida Supreme Court warned you about such nearly six months ago?

If so, I'd love to hear their view. Please send them my way.

Well Darrel, i don't blame him for asking, seeing as Jack has brought up the site numerous times in his court filings, giving the judge and whoever else all the reason in the world to check the site and find his posts.

But yeah, for someone who continually bragged "Ha, i'm using my real name instead of anonymous avatars, you cowardly pissants!" he's sure not making himself look much better.
Quiz Law, how many marriage preprositions have you gotten lately?

Is anyone else finding an interesting comparison to one Justice League (Unlimited?) episode where Lex Luthor finds out he's gotten a fatal case of kryptonite poisoning from carrying around a piece, as a means to kill Superman after committing a crime, for so long?

No offense to Luthor fans, but I'm pretty sure him and Jack would be able to have some interesting conversations with the ideals of paranoia in mind...
Proposition, I mean. My appologies - just one of those mornings!
sure quizlaw is a good one liner but southerndistrict of florida just shows that its not only us here at GP that realise jack thompson is famous for sinking lower than anyones expectations.
Is anyone really surprised that his "peers" find him a raving lunatic as well?
Hardly, BaronJuJu.

His actions are so obviously inappropriate in reference to multiple standards and morals on various levels, to say the very least...

I'd assume that there happens to be very few individuals whom do not find him to be somewhat...yeah. I cannot bring myself to type anything polite. Just insert your favourite description of Jack Thompson before "yeah". Eheh...
I dunno, I kind of felt like we were the only people who saw Jack's crazy this whole time and It feels good to know that his own peers feel the same way about him that we do.

BTW, I hope we are all proved wrong about the violent video game --> real world violence link when Jack's kid goes on a shooting spree from playing all of the M rated games he bought.
A republican talking about censoring.. How cute.
@ *sigh*

Yeah, but even then there's the fact that he has JT as a father... I'm sure that'd drive anyone to kill.
I was wondering how the non-Game Politics-visiting lawyers thought about JT. What Nightwing said though.
Once again, Dennis Mc"Smelly" gets it wrong!
i am a famous law-talky man who has watched Night Court and once i wroted down my words for people to say it was bad and i shouldn't writed them down no more!
Judges get mad at gay people because they are gay, not because i sended the pictures from the magic box to them. Jesus knows gayism is against the constitution of the God and he fights Bhudda all night long to make sure the sun rises in the morning.
of course, everyone who disagrees with me is now and was previously a member of the Communist party and prevents childrens from doing learnings, and possibly gayist retardeds too.
Wow, GP you're right, a 10 page letter of...nothing. Ranting and raving at any person who thinks he is wrong. He still can't write a letter to save his lfe without insulting someone at every turn. Sad, just sad.

I had to laugh when I saw the picture of his book cover on in the letter. Talk about vain
Here is my question: Who pays for all these legal shenanigans?
@Tristram

As a Florida taxpayer, we do for the courts time on this.
"I certainly am enjoying the fact that you all are enjoying yourselves with this amazing misreportage."

Oh, Jackie, there's no misreportage here, you just did something stupid and everyone knows it except for you. Enjoy your disbarment and possible legal action since after all, you did just distribute gay porn for all the world, including minors, to see.
So everyone is against you Jack?
It's you against the world!
The problem is when the world believes your wrong, it doesn't matter much what you think. The majority decides the norm, and last I checked filing porn with legal documents isn't the normal state of affairs in a court of law. Stop wasting my money with your shenanigans.
@BaronJuJU

I suspected as much.

I also read some of the letter (about seven pages) and I have to say that he throws the word "proof" and "proving" around a lot. Also, he seems to think that many of the things he says are self evident. And philosophy undergrad could tell you that isn't the way to go about making a solid argument.
Oh maybe I should have my little sister set up a sting operation to try to obtain these gay images from your submission. After all it worked for you with Target and Best Buy right?
GP, thanks for posting the ad hoc yada-yada.

As a teenaged “Student Mayor for a Day” in my 3,000 student high school in my all-white Ohio town

Out of curiosity, were you ever Hall Monitor?

Many people think that “gay adult porn” is naked men holding hands or kissing.

Really? I would have assumed that "gay adult porn" were like any other porn, except involving gay adults.

It is a miracle that I am now a lawyer and that I have survived

Wow, I really couldn't put it any better myself.
Mr. Thompson, he DID post those letters. Sorry that you decide only to read how many times your name is in the article and nothing else.
Well after trawling through the heap of s*** that was the letter Jack is claiming was withheld from us (notice he always blame Dennis for not posting it rather than posting a link himself because he so desperately wants the attention), it reads like he pasted together every single "urgent press release" he ever wrote all rolled into one.

It also contains numerous spelling and grammatical errors, constant over emphasis of lines with italics and changes of fonts... I think my niece could have written it better. He quotes in bold a line by Howard Stern *twice* just to get peoples attention and the whole of the last two pages go on and on about god and Martin Luther King and at one stage even references Alice in Wonderland...

One of the amusing quotes is that he justifies sending in gay porn because, and I quote;

"Many people think 'gay adult porn' is naked men holding hands and kissing"

Just how stupid does he think the people he is talking to are? Not only that but he lies and claims that the material is directly on the site from his rival lawyer rather than a link stating "I got this obscenity off a Florida lawyer's web site where it was accessible, free of charge, to children". This is slander, plain and simple and I hope Norm Kent gets wind of that letter.
"You seem to want to discredit Judge Jordan’s order by making the point that a kid would need a credit card to access the federal PACER docket system and that would keep them out. But you made the opposite argument in regard to online sales of M-rated games."

In a word, OWNED. In 3 words, SO SO OWNED!

That's the terrible trouble with lies and misrepresentation, isn't it? You keep piling one on top of the other and eventually there comes a time when you make up some crackpot excuse or falsehood that is in complete contradiction to an earlier statement and you end up looking like a fool. It's something that Mr. Thompson has proven himself very good at.

Kudos, GP. I love the fact that every time he whinges about misreporting, etc. That you have exactly the answers and responses to prove him wrong.
@Jack:

I realise that understanding the world around you can be a difficult thing, but how difficult is it to read this blog post?

"Here’s a quick survey of what some popular legal blogs are saying[...]" followed by links to five other blogs which Dennis did not write. Are these five other sites also misreporting? Are they in on the conspiracy? Are they secretly actually Dennis McCauley too?

Who is doing the misreporting here?
"When I get to Heaven, and I am going there.."
Wow, are you really such an arrogant, pompous prick that you just assume you're already secured a place in Heaven? Disgusting...
Wait, Jack actually said that a credit card system would keep kids out of the docket system? What a hypocritical sleaze.
Hehehehehe, poor fool. He's doomed and he doesn't even realize it.

November is going to be a very interesting month.
A few things I noticed in his Ad Hoc rantings:

"I sent a letter on September 19 to
several law enforcement officials proving that this lawyer was criminally distributing obscenity through his official law firm web site."

Can anyone tell me if the National Gay News website that Norm Kent runs is an "official law firm" web site?

"Many people think that “gay adult porn” is naked men holding hands or kissing. It is not. The best evidence of that is, uh, the evidence."

How can you put such childish language in a letter regarding law?

"The Bar won’t touch this guy. He is officially an “untouchable” because the enemy of The Bar’s enemy is its friend. This is not even debatable. I have the proof. "

Referring to my first question, if indeed Mr Kent's web site is not an official law web site (and I highly doubt it is), why would the bar seek to prosecute him over it in the first place?

"the selective non-prosecution of my SLAPP Bar complainant who is committing criminal acts and which The Bar knows is committing criminal acts."

Reiterating lack of reason for the Bar to prosecute someone for running a website with nothing to do with the Bar or practice of law. Furthermore, I realise that gay porn may not be everyone's cup of tea, but is it actually a criminal act to link to an adult site from a site such as National Gay News?

"The porn lawyer has frantically removed from his site this obscene material. "

And thus removed any reason for Thompson to try and drag Mr. Kent into this silly lawsuit.

"I screwed up, like Flounder in Animal House."

A pretty bizarre reference for a legal document...

"When I went to law school, I dreamed of one day maybe even being a public official."

But when you didn't achieve that you tried in an incredibly ingracious manner to tarnish the reputation of the person who soundly defeated you, Janet Reno.

"tried to follow the path that God game me."

A freudian slip perhaps Jack?

" I have a right to be a fool, but I am a fool for Christ, and He has used
me because I know that my life is nothing but dirty rags. I am no better than the pornographer, but the difference is that I know it."

WTF? He has abused the right to be a fool and his life is "dirty rags" because he has made it that way. This is some of the strangest stuff I have ever seen written in a legal document.

"and about children who are being procured for sex through Internet sites."

Where did this come out of?

I suppose I shouldn't be too shocked, having seen some of the crazy religious talk that has filled some of his previous press releases/attempts at legal documents. I would hope that all of the people reading this, regardless of their religious beliefs see it for what it is: An attempt to shift blame by a desperate man at the bottom of a deep hole he has dug for himself through his own inexcusable behaviour.

If I were to insult people as he has, to flagrantly break so many rules of his profession, to ignore court mandates, and use the law as a club to try and push my morals onto others, I would like to think I could be man enough to own up to what I did. Still, that would involve being a man. As Jack himself has explained, he is merely a "fool for Christ". He sees himself as a passive tool being used by his God. How could you expect such a person to take responsibility for their actions? The people he tries to defend make me sick with their "video games made me do it" excuse. The only difference between him and they is that his excuse for his unlawful behaviour is "Christ made me do it."
Okay everyone try their best to alert jack to this hypocracy, hes been a hypocrite from the start but this is both a bold and quick example of it, if in the case that hes a deluded moron maybe if we point this out loud enough he'll realise how much of a prat he is (doubtful). On the other more likely hand, he knows hes a hypocrite and is just an asshole because thats who he is.
Jack is an r-tard.
Jack, having read that letter, I can tell you it's just like everything else you do. Self-masturbatory retardation. A strange way to boost your own self confidence.

Here's the thing, you suck as a lawyer. Your current record proves me correct. In 31 years, you may have won a few cases, but in the last 10, you've won what? One or two?

Now YOU, a piss-poor example of a lawyer, are trying to tell the BAR that the courts are violating your constituional rights? Samuel Powers Jr. ought be ashamed of what you are.

When you get before St. Peter, I'm sure he'll laugh at you for taking our Lord's name in vain so often, and will drop you straight into the pits of hell.
"Many people think that “gay adult porn” is naked men holding hands or kissing."

dot.

dot.

mother-fucking DOT.
“Many people think that “gay adult porn” is naked men holding hands or kissing.”

You know, this is starting to explain why he was so against Bully's potential gay kiss scene. I wonder if Jack knew that it wasn't naked men holding hands before he found the, uh, evidence.
'What has happened since I did what I did to prove The Bar’s duplicity and its outrageous protection of this assault upon the public square by a porn lawyer? The porn lawyer has frantically removed from his site this obscene material. Is that an admission of something? You bet it is.'

Uh... correct me if I'm wrong, but the images were NEVER ACTUALLY ON THE SITE YOU'RE BITCHING ABOUT. They were on sites that were *linked* to, and you willfully and deliberately travelled to those other sites, went through whatever verification process they may or may not have had, copied the images to your hard drive, and filed them.

'I inserted a huge warning on the second page of the letter that what followed were three sexually graphic images that this lawyer was disseminating to people of all ages by means of his law firm web site, which linked on its home page to his porn portal site. Anyone who turned the page had been warned with one-inch-high letters what was on the next page.'

Now, of course I never saw the site in question, or how the links were set up, or how the site the links went to was set up, so I don't know. But from what I heard they *were* marked as 'Adult'.

So, it's okay if *you* warn people there's porn afoot, but if anyone else tries it that's not good enough? It'd be nice if you toned down the whole double-standard thing, Jack...
I think the point is that people log onto Video Game sites and buy a game with their credit card with the specific purpose of playing a pre-rated Video Game, they are aware of the content they encounter before they pay. You are even asked to confirm your age. With PACER, it's an administration fee, nothing more, there's no age confirmation, no rating, it's simply payment to keep the servers running and make a bit of cash.

Students use PACER because of its useful legal content, can you imagine one studying up on current disciplinary systems, browsing this case and loading up an attached picture in the middle of class? No offence to the Americans here, but I've seen how paranoid your education system can be about Porn, they'd probably expel the poor student and not bother to listen to any defence.
@Austin Lewis

Oh, I think we already knew Jack knows precisely zero about the Constitution. If he did, he wouldn't have kept trying to make all those unconstitutional laws.
@ Austin Lewis

Jesus will be laughing at Jack for trying to get into Heaven.

And in the last ten years, he's won ZERO cases.

@ Shoehorn O'Plenty

The people he tries to defend make me sick with their “video games made me do it” excuse. The only difference between him and they is that his excuse for his unlawful behaviour is “Christ made me do it.”

And that really makes them no different at all.

And not only that, by piling on lie after lie, Thompson brought all his problems on himself.

@ Dennis

After hearing people's response to the letter, this is the only fitting response to Jack Thompson:

“What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”

@ Jack Thompson

Practice what you preach: Grow up and get a life. And get a new cause, since yours has always been lost.

"Shut the fuck up, you're out of your element."- Walter, The Big Lebowski
Thompson's career is over no doubt ;) .
lol @ JT
@Jack Thompson

Get the fuck out of my state..
You know... I think I'm gonna miss Jack when he finally gets the axe. If it were anyone else, who knows? Gaming legislation might already be in place by now.

So Jack, I salute you and your hard work alienating so many people and being an obstacle to the very change you've been trying to bring about. When everyone else around the country is burning you in effigy, I'll have a little shrine prepared for you instead.
@GP. Yup. It's the usual bullshit letter alright. References to his work against the FCC, etc. He's even included a little picture of his book in it. Ain't it cute.
If Howard Stern said that black people smell like watermelons, then you must acquit!
@ JT

Just because YOU wrote a letter in response does not make your problems go away. That would be like a convicted rapist writing a letter about how he didn't technically commit rape.

@ Dennis

I'm sure you're sick of hearing this now- but could you at least make a seperate JT section of the site and leave the main page for REAL topics where ADULTS are having MEANINGFUL discourse on said topics? JT topics are mostly about nothing or him defending himself.
OMG from the JT filing:

Being a “culture warrior” is messy business. Somebody has to do it. When I get to
Heaven, and I am going there, I am going to ask God why it had to be me.

This guy is fucking insane. "Why me GOD!!!!!!!"

LOLOLOL all the way to the fucking bank. That made my day. Thank you for getting GP to post the link to that shit.
Jack,

When will you get it through your thick skull? You're NOT being prosecuted by the Florida Bar for your beliefs. You are being prosecuted by the Florida Bar because you act like an outrageous asshat every time you file a court document by insulting and defaming fellow lawyers, judges, and other parties involved in the case.

LOL...plugging your book in a court filing! What a tool!
@GP

Hey, question. He starting to piss you off Dennis? Not that I could blame you, the guy could tick off Mother Theresa; but I wonder seriously why this story was worth publishing? Anybody with two working brain cells can figure out it's not usually a good idea to send gay porn, much less put it in court docs; so is it any real surprise that most of the legal community does not share his stance? I should hope not. Just in recent memory - the guy subpeona'ed the president for crying out loud - if congress can't get him to testify I can't imagine why Jack-o would think he could.

My point is, why is this newsworthy? It doesn't involve games in any way - and represents no real substantial bearing on his disciplinary hearings either for or against. Also, frankly, I've read a number of Dennis/JT rebutts, and I never for a moment thought that any of them weren't justified. BUT - the rebutts lately have a bit more spit&fire to them. more charged. Kinda starting to wonder if he's got you riled up a bit?
Who cares what he says now? He showed gay porn to a judge! He's become a punchline like Peewee Herman and Michael Jackson!
@ Hollywoodbob

This is basically any person with an ideology they believe to be the ultimate.
What I don't get is just how Jack thinks that possible wrong doing on Mr. Kent's part means that he is innocent for his own wrong doings. Doesn't Jack think its possible that perhaps they could BOTH get in trouble? The world is big enough for two lawyers to act unprofessionally at the same time.
@Tristram:
And in my experience people like that are void of any ability to think in a rational manner.
Is it normal for lawyers to use the "I'm going to Heaven" defense?
@ zerodash

No, it's not.
Does anyone think Jack Thompson has lost his sanity?
I wonder if JT has ever read the story of the man who thought he did everything right and ended up in spit-polishing the devil's boots.. Kinda relevant don'cha tink?
OK, so I just finished reading the 11 page letter. In case you don't have enough time to go through it all, here is a summary. I'll try to be as nice as possible, even though it's getting harder and harder:

1). I’m really great and here is a list of reasons why.
2). Black people love me for getting Howard Stern off the air.
3). I wrote a book! Here’s a picture of it!
4). Everybody’s out to get me because I’m a Christian.
5). My opponent had links to gay porn (‘porn portal’) on his website and I was totally right to attach pictures of said gay porn to a court filing. But the judge is threatening ME.
6). My opponent should be the one going to jail, not me, but because the Bar is conspiring against me this is not the case.
7). The court asked me to show them this gay porn, but when I did they changed their minds. I am like Paul Revere, and I “screwed up” like Flounder from Animal House because I trusted the judge.
8). Bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla. (The last three pages were so boring that I didn't read through them. It's typical Thompson rhetoric.)

This particular quote struck me as odd:

“The chances that children are paying for and logging onto the PACER system in order to surf federal court files, with no search engine to do so, looking for gay adult sex obscenity are between slim and none and Slim just left town.”

Did he… did he just paraphrase Ash from Army of Darkness?
@Quad9damage

hes used that one before too.
John Bruce Thompson has *zero* effectiveness trying to be a lawyer...with a solid track record to prove it.
@ Hollywood Bob

I understand what you're saying, and you completely have the right to believe what you want. However, as a Christian and a gamer, I'm finding it harder and harder to come into these board discussions. I don't mind "bad language" (anyone who knows me knows that I can curse like a sailor when I'm in the right mood) or even the attacks on Jack (he fully deserves them at this point).

What I'm really sick of is coming onto this site and having someone bashing my beliefs and my God under the heading that "This was my experience with Christians." It is hard enough living in this world, always having to justify and explain something that is extremely personal to complete strangers. I don't want to have to do it here.

Please stop trying to justify attacks on a person's beliefs with ridiculous stereotypes. Your disclaimer that "you-respect-what-I-believe-even-though-you-don't-respect-what-I-believe" is ridiculous. I'm capable of rational thought, and I'm still trying to figure out what that means. Does it mean that you love Christians but hate what they believe? Do you love some Christians but hate others? Do you even know what you're trying to say, or are you just hoping this disclaimer will make you look like less of a bigot?

Hollywood Bob isn't the only one doing it, so here's a general message to everyone on the messageboards. Lay off the bashing for a couple days, alright?
I'm happy to see that this thread doesn't already have 250 posts in it. Maybe people are finally starting to realize that we should just ignore this man (speaking for myself as well).
@ Paul

Only because everything that's been said about him has already been said.

@ HollywoodBob

I understand your anger. I used to feel that way too. Then I realized it was making me no better than they, and that there are good Christians out there. They came to this board, and I read what they posted, and it made me rethink my attitudes. And I'm glad they did that so I could see.

One of my best friends is also a Christian. We've known each other for seven years. And while she and I may not share the same set of values, and while we may disagree from time to time, we agree to disagree and we love each other very much.

You're right in that once Jack is disbarred it won't stop him from filing as a private citizen. But just because he will doesn't mean they'll listen to him and he'll no longer have the authority of law behind him. As Ryan posted on an earlier thread, he's regarded as both an embarassment and a laughingstock by the legal community. Ryan is a member of the Florida Bar. And if that is what the Bar truly thinks of him, then his demise is all but assured and they'll be even less inclined to act on any motions he would file than they did when he was still a lawyer.

Likewise, he won't appear on television anymore. Why? Because as a lawyer he could claim to be some sort of authority and he won't be able to do that anymore. Even in his appearances after the V-Tech shooting, news reporters like Chris Matthews were regading him with a healthy amount of skepticism. More recently he was considered to appear on Dr. Phil and was later turned-down. It's not been stated why officially, but reading between the lines suggests that once the producers did their homework on him, they decided against putting him on. Being stripped of his lawyer title will fully discredit him.

Oh sure, he can yammer away all he likes, but once he's been disbarred he'll be just another crazy old religious nutcase. He'll be declawed and defanged and will no longer be able to use the law like a blunt instrument.
@Rachel:

I don't hate anyone. I love my friends and family, and everyone else is basically beyond all but the most basic respect that all people deserve. I am certainly no bigot.

I have a deep respect for anyone who has deeply held beliefs, especially ones that fly in the face of sanity, and promote bigotry and hatred, but I don't have any respect for those beliefs. It's similar to the Christian homophobic ideal of "Love the sinner, Hate the sin." I respect people, not dogmatic tripe from 2000+ years ago. Clear on that?

I think it's funny that on the internet it's the Christians that feel they're they ones that are constantly on the defense, when in the offline world it's those of us that are Atheists that are the ones persecuted. You call them ridiculous stereotypes, I call them accurate depictions of 90% of the zealots I've dealt with. The problem isn't with those of us that disagree with religious dogma, but those of you that can't take having your beliefs disagreed with.

"It is hard enough living in this world, always having to justify and explain something that is extremely personal to complete strangers. I don’t want to have to do it here."

Try being an Atheist or a Muslim. Christian beliefs for the most part aren't personal, they may be to you, but not to most. And those that don't find them to be privately held beliefs like to use them as a shield for every nasty action they commit, and as a spear to try and force everyone else to capitulate to their ideals.

The internet gives people a voice, one that they may not normally have elsewhere. I would suggest to you several options to your dislike of people criticisms of Christians:
1) Grow thicker skin. Just because you belong to a group being attacked doesn't mean you have to be a victim.
2) Ignore the post as ravings of a loon. I could be completely mental for all you know.
3) Change the stereotype. Show us that you're not the kind of person we're referring to, and that those bad experiences we've had aren't the norm.

And above all else. Unless you're aer being expressly referred to, assume that people aren't talking about you. You'll be a lot happier. Otherwise you'll be constantly upset at people like me, and there's a lot of use online.
wow...thats all i can say about this whole situation
@Black Manta:

There's no anger. Did my post seem that way? Many of my friends are or were Christian, and several of my family are devout Christians. They all understand that while I don't honor their beliefs doesn't mean that I hold any animosity to them as people.

I was simply using that statement as an analogy for Thompson. An irrational defense of an opinion, easily contradicted.
“Many people think that “gay adult porn” is naked men holding hands or kissing. It is not. The best evidence of that is, uh, the evidence.”

Of all of Jack's lines, this is one of THE most hypocritical he has ever spoken. Ummm, what did he call the boy on boy kissing in Bully again. Oh yeah,. he called it gay sex, trying to make the game look like it was porn.

Also, to Jack.

Over the course of your crusade, tell me, you have destroyed so much, what is it you could have possibly created, can you name even one thing?

I thought not.

[kudos to who gets that reference]
@kurisu7885

HL2 :)
@New Here

For being the first to get that, here's a cookie.

And now that I think on it, JT and Dr Breen have at least this in common. They both hold it in their head that what they are doing is so right and will be so beneficial that they do not care what gets destroyed.
@Rachel

I agree completely. I'm a Chirstian gamer myself and I've also noticed that there tends to be more than a few posts attacking Christians whenever a story like this comes out.

It does get hard to ignore it when it happens multiple times, in multiple posts. I like this site. I like the news here and I like keeping up with the things that get talked about here, I'm just tired of seeing my faith under attack by people who claim to be open minded but are, in reality, some of the biggest snobs arounds.

As to the story itself, Mr. Thompson doesn't really have a leg to stand on. He knew what he was doing had the potential to get him in trouble and he did it anyway. He wanted the drama this would bring, plain and simple.
@bayushisan

I'm with you on this Bayu. I have met some well to do christians in good standing who have a level head on their shoulders.

Do not attack the belief system itself, attack those who exploit that belief system to make themselves feel better about their dishonorable and unethical actions.
Well, Jack, i have to admire your whole attitude towards this whole thing. You just can't accept defeat, can you? No, instead, you twist the truth and add your own lies to make it seem as if you somehow won. I guess, in your mind, we are all insane bags of shit who don't know what the hell we're talking about, and you're the knight in shining armor who's going to save the public from these TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE KILLER M RATED GAMES THAT MAKE OUR CHILDREN KILL PEOPLE AND DO TERRIBLE THINGS!!!! WE MUST STOP THEM MUHAHAHAHAHAAH!

Please. There is no "misinterpretation" going on here. Anyone who sees putting up gay porn on a court docket for everyone in the world to look at, including children, as a good thing is clearly not right in the head. I see the point you were trying to make, Jack, but you chose the COMPLETELY wrong way to go about making it. How you still have a license to practice law is beyond me. And I can't WAIT too see the day you lose it.
Save me Penny Arcade! (Basically, i'm asking for something funny on penny arcade. Preferably to do with Jack Thompson)

4) Politely refer the person pushing the stereotype to the comments rules that come with posting in said site.
@Christians

This is a generic question, but why are Christians in this country so thin-skinned? I hear belly-aching from you constantly, personally and in the news, about how you are being "oppressed" or "persecuted" and that your "faith is under attack." Every year during December, I have to suffer through whining about "there's a war on Christmas" because other people have different holidays and celebrate them differently. You claim there is no prayer in school because you cannot force everyone to pray in your manner, no matter what religion they follow or do not follow. Meanwhile, I've heard plenty of stories about atheists being treated badly by Christians for not following their religion, and seen some of it for myself. There is only one open atheist in the US senate because voters think atheists are devil worshippers and baby eaters so will not vote for them. How are you folks being persecuted? You are the majority in this country, and throughout your history, whenever your religion has gained control in an area, you start persecuting everyone else. As far as I can tell, not only is it a bunch of superstition and witchcraft, it is extra annoying for claiming to be better than everyone else without any action to back it up. As your book says, take the log out of your eye before you worry about the mote in someone else's.
@HandofCrom

I take it that "this country" means The US? Not liable to comment if it does.
I don't know why I'm even surprised at the hypocrisy anymore. His entire argument of why this man is so horrible is that he linked to a site... which Jack provides the address of several times in this letter. And guess what? That letter isn't restricted to adults only. He just provided children with access to a porn portal. (And don't say that Dennis is the provider either, he posted that letter at Jack's own request-- I'm sure the author of a document knows what it contains.)

Also.. since when does god give you the right to petition your government? I don't see that anywhere in the bible. Actually, since when is god relevant to ANY of these recent events?
Quiz Law: He’ll Be Riding Six White Horses When He…

Best Line: Jack Thompson and Paul Revere: Two peas in a pod. American heroes. One warns that the British are coming, and the other distributes images of gay men c*****g. - Haha, thats easily the best one.
@ the honoured Anonymous

Indeed. *remembers the 'Dont mess with Football' fiasto well*

And as for Jackie boy and flames... kill him with fire?
I'm heartened by the fact that the greater law community is well-aware of just how off his rocker Jack has fallen. I always worry that one of Jack's great strenghts is his obscurity, that his infantile antis are low enough under the radar of the rest of the world that they don't realize him for the basketcase he is. That prominent law industry sites are aware of and furthermore disdainful of his idiotic posturing ensures that when Jack finally does get disbarred, no one will be willing to represent him when he presses his attack as a private citizen and not as a lawyer.

Sit and spin, Jack. You're not going anywhere but down from here.
@JT:

LOL (@ you, not with you... just like the rest of the sane world is doing.) also you'd know everything about censorship and lying, amirite?

@BearDogg-X:

I can just envision him standing at the gates in St. Paul's presence:

*shakes head* "tsk tsk tsk... not good, not good at all... and you thought this was going to get you into heaven, how? SECURITY! Take him.... downstairs."

@Paul:

Yeah Jack... Heaven's the one with the pearly gates... that fire and brimstone you smell? That ain't it.

Also, yeah everything's been said already, and even if it hadn't simply ignoring him won't make him go away (and even that is filed under 'been said before')

@GP20XX:

You go ahead, I'll be over there partying with the rest of the angry mob :P

@Nobody:

Just now? No. about 50 years ago? More than likely, yeah.

And that 'six white horses' quote wins, by far...

At least Jack won't have to go far to retire when his license expires in November... :D
@ handofcrom

ok, you seem to generalize alot here. sure, there are some bad christains out there, just as there are bad everythings out there. but saying christians are treating people badly?.... ok there are tons of different types of christians, such as catholic, protastant, baptist and so on. you will always hear the worst, never the normal. why? because normal doesn't sell news papers or get hits on websites. but if it does I will be the first to start the:

www.people_who_do_nothing_to_people_who_are_different.com

it may seem long, but it may catch on.
@ our honored /b/rothers.

Did they have to pay you new doors too?

@ Christians and christian-bashers: Stop it already, it isn't funny, it isn't productive or constructive in the least and it certainly doesn't relax anyone around here. So, stop it. I have had enough of atheists and christinas throwing big words around the place, when will the atheists's "might well be for all we know" get anything else but the back seat anyway? (At least we can shrug things of for long.)

@ JT:

LOL WUT? I mean seriously, you are hilariously wrong all along, a good "how not to" read indeed.

And "Men kissing" is gay porn? It is called **** and is made out of pure fail and stuff, like sandwhiches. Porn is porn, why do I have to tell a grown man these kinds of things? Poor upbringing, I'd bet...
@GP - nice rebuttal.

@JT - GPs right, your letter is crap. Chest beating, book plugging, and insulting to anyone who disagrees with you.

Also, men holding hands is gay porn? Put down the crack pipe, you've had enough.
@HandsOfCrom

It's because those who are Christian, and even thats a big problem cause are you talking about baptist or catholics or greek orthodox or evangelicals, have to hear about every stupid thing someone who thinks they are the chosen warrior of God to the point where they assume he actually speaks to them decides to do something and it's stupid we've gotta deal with the fall out. It's a lot like when you were 10 and had to bring along a cousin or little brother or sister who you aren't fond of to go hang out at the park with your friends. They keep doing stupid things and since they are forced to come along with you in some way you've gotta deal with it.

And yes, most of us get that we are the majority, but that doesn't help the people who use my faith as a money making machine earn the proper profit margin. That's why if you flip on the 700 Cub you hear all about how librials and the gays and the feminists are chipping away at the good American life. People love to help out the underdogs and feel like they are the underdog that will end up winning in the end.

And yes, most of us get the fact that this isn't the proper way for one's faith to be used and get the idea that if we want to take back the main voice of our faith we've gotta get louder then the idiots who keep going on about how "God told me to do this," people. But sadly, "We accept all faiths and find that the proper path to God is to quietly do his works and attempt to lead others in actions and thoughts while respecting the choices of others," doesn't raise as much money as "GOD WANTS YOU TO BE RICH, BUT ONLY IF YOU GIVE ME 100 DOLLARS," or "YOU MUST SEE YOURSELF AS A HOLY WARRIOR OF GOD AND FIGHT FOR HIM AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY," so its hard to get the air time.

But basicaly the reason why you might get a non psycho Christian with thin skin is cause we are tired of having to field the questions from everyone who thinks the Uber Evangelicals are crazy cause some of us think they are crazy, but we aren't them.
Yep, I am pals with a few christians, and they are normal people (as oposed to me), as in: they don't expect me to become a warrior of god and they tend to call people who see themselves as warriors from god as a buch of money grabbing, belief abusing loonies.
Dennis, I do ask you to forgive me for the following statement, but I must say it.

WHAT, THE , FUCK!?

Ok, sorry, now that I have that out of my system, I can't understand what was going through jacks mind. Does the man think he has anything close to, or even approaching, the legal support or clout to pull something like this. His behaviour is about 1 step removed from a child in a play ground thowing a tantrum.

Jacks actions reflect horribly on the entire legal community and give good lawyers everywhere a bad name.

If I were a lawyer, i'd be ashamed that this man is a part of my profession

I'd bet that most lawyer, espesically in florida, fell that way.
@ HandofCrom:

I'll try to help out here a bit too. I for one don't necessarily think that our religion is any more under attack than other religions out there. The reason that some people probably think that (and it's reasonable from their point of view) is that there are several angry atheists who attack Christianity ad hominem over anything, generalizing a very diverse group of people with the mistakes of the past or of some of the more conservative groups. I think that ultimately what you're dealing with is such a diverse culture of Christianity that reacts differently depending on the group. And just to clarify, not all conservative Christian (read, fundamentalist) groups are bad. I'm sure there are many good ones. I, like you, apparently, have had bad experiences with some of the bad apples.

I'm speaking as a Christian who is choosing faith and ministry as a profession. My older sister, one of the greatest influences on me growing up, is an atheist. I'm not about to go over to her and ask her to repent and join my church or anything like that. I will, however, occasionally let her know she has an open invitation, as do anybody for my church (wherever that is. I'm still not sure where I belong yet). I have several friends who are agnostic or atheist. They respect where I'm coming from and I respect where they're coming from.

Unfortunately, there are cases of peer pressure where atheists will attack Christians on their beliefs and attempt to break them down. Christians do the same to atheists, I can guarantee that. I don't involve myself in such battles except to help build up the faith of believers. My denomination as an unspoken rule does not attack people of other faiths or belief structures, but instead calls them in to dialogue. We may not agree, but we'll talk and share ideas and hope to be enriched by the process, and that we are enriching the others in the discussion.

As for Christmas, I really don't give a damn about Christmas myself. It's an arbitrary date to celebrate the birth of Christ, when we have no idea when he was actually born. I personally choose to celebrate his birth through my life, not just in a once a year blowout. As it is, Christmas has been coopted from its original meeting by the extreme amount of commercialism that begins the moment we hit November 1st. Thanksgiving doesn't really exist in this culture except for a couple days of remembering that we have a really big meal to cook because it's overwhelmed by Christmas stuff. Is the "true meaning of Christmas" still hidden under all that? Sure, but it gives some of us Christians a sick stomach trying to sift through the holiday "bargains" to get to Christmas morning singing of the new hope of the world.

As far as taking the log out of our own eye, trust me. A lot of us are trying. We're committing to justice first, not to putting down others. Unfortunately, some groups and individuals think that their faith is another way of proving their superiority in the world rather than following Jesus' directive to serve one another.
@ Anonymous

Bah! I doubt they would've paid even if they did bring the Party V&. Not that they would given I'm a Kiwi.
"It’s almost impossible to get under Judge Jordan’s skin, but Jack Thompson has found out a way to do so — include graphic images of gay porn in his filings. This is no joke…"

If it's no joke, why do I find it hilarious.

Jack, your life is like a reality show without all the crying when people get send home, but with all the bitching and backstabbing. I'd rather see a documentary about you than watch the opening rounds of Idol.
First of all, I love that Jack argues that kids won't be looking for Gay Porn in the legal documents. Well, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. What I'm waiting for is some unsuspecting child to be looking through the system, doing his homework, when *click* GAY PORN! Courtesy of Mr. Jack Thompson.

I'll say it again. It's like juggling semi-automatics to teach gun safety.

And also on that note, I've rolled my eyes at a few of the analogies that have come up here, particularly the Lex Luthor/Kryptonite one. But when Jack compared himself to Flounder from Animal House... I mean, come on, Animal House? Seriously? A bad movie from the 80s?

Also, a quick google search informs me that Animal House has at least three actresses appearing topless in it. Funny that you cite a plot point from such an unclean film, Jack.
@jadedcritic

Maybe it's not; but it makes a damn good vent.
I apologize, I was a little too harsh in my statements. The most noticeable Christians are the annoying scum, like Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and Jack Thompson, but it is wrong to characterize everyone by their like (I doubt those folks even believe it, just use Jesus as a means to con people for personal benefit). Believe or don't believe in whatever flavor of bone-rattling you prefer, just make sure that you personally are virtuous. After all, none of it will matter once the robots rise up to replace us :)

And yes, I was referring to the US when I said "this country." I'm American, we frequently forget the rest of the world exists, I'm sure everyone knows that!
I've been a reader of GamePolitics for some time, so I've become very familiar with this man. To be honest, it's really gotten to a point where I no longer find him offensive, so much as a ludicrous blowhard.

Advertising your book and claiming to have received divine salvation in a legal document? I suppose I should be baffled, possibly angered, but humor was all I found.
@ HandofCrom

See? This is why I like decent people, because they are kind enough to give an apology if they make an acusatory(sp?) statement. But really when it comes down to it, it doesn't matter what culture your from or what religion you choose or what hobbies you pick up, we still choose the person we're going to be, both physically and personally. You can be a christian and still be a total asshole, like JT here, but that doesn't all christians are the same way. Likewise, you can be an athiest and still be an asshole, like Pandralisk, but that doesn't mean that there aren't good atheists out there. You choose your personality, your beliefs, and your hobbies, no one chooses it for you, so really, of you are going to blame something for this crap, don't blame religion or video games, blame the person himself for choosing to act that way.
The worm has turned in the gay porn filing matter, kiddies. I provided the proof to Dennis McCauley. He refuses to share it.

GP:  yep, you've got the proof, alright. Totally brilliant work there...

If any documents in the case meet GP's editorial standard for significance worthy of publication, you'll see them on the front page, as always.

@RaZor, mottom22, and GD86
Thanks. : )

@Handof Crom
Thanks for the apology. I never want to be grouped in with Robertson, Falwell, and Thompson. They're all a bunch of morons. Also, I don't care if people celebrate Christmas, I am pro-gay marriage, and my beliefs are very personal to me because a lot of them are based off of my own life experiences. Don't worry, I'm not going to try to convert you or anything. ; ) Finally, stereotypes are hard to change. There's plenty more of us out here, we just tend to not make the evening news.
Y'know, I love that every time Jack comes on here posting about how 'Dennis won't release so-and-so document/link because it makes me look great!', he never actually posts it himself. Because every time it gives Dennis a chance to post the document/link, which makes Dennis look good and Jack look like a fool.

Yet he never learns, he never posts the links himself, he always leaves himself open to look foolish. It's like he sets himself up for it.
@LightWarrior:

You mean "Because the videogame industry is marketing M rated games to children!" isn't a good enough alibi? (Outside of JT's ass-backwards perception of the world, that is.)
Every Jack Thompson story makes me wonder just a little bit more how it is that his wife ignores the fact that this man is out of his mind. I really hope that after his disbarment someone makes sure he receives the help that he obviously desperately needs.
Man, just read that letter to the adhoc committee. Pathetic, moronic, and completely full of selfish, conspiracy-theorist antics. Jack could actually write another book, filled with just court filings. I mean, it would be filed under the "humor" section of your favorite bookstore, but it would still be there.

He's like a Darwin Award nominee who is just trying to beat the record for "largest amount of idiotic actions before death."
The "backlash" to Christianity that surrounds many issues today is more about the "Culture Warriors" and less about the religion itself. These self-proclaimed "Warriors" are trying to re-create society, culture, science, art, etc. as they see fit, which is in-effect forcing their values (stemmed from faith) on EVERYONE.

While it is true that the vast majority of Christians aren't fighting this "Culture War", the few that are have been doing a good job at making the entire faith look bad.

I will be the first to agree that the anti-Culture Warriors should lay off lumping the entire faith in with these loonies. HOWEVER, Christians who do not like the backlash they are feeling perhaps should turn their ire to the Cultrue Warriors who are making the entire faith look bad.
@Josh Martz

They'll likely create that category just for him
@Mnementh2230

Jack Thomspon thinks that most people, like himself, have the first impression of what is "gay porn" is boy on boy kissing. Well at least "gay sex" his from what he sais was in the Bully game.
The .pdf isn't loading for me...could someone upload it elsewhere? I'd like to read this.
I was wondering, and if anyone has brought this up, forgive me, but if the court finds the pictures obscene, doesn't JT run the risk of prosecution for distributing obscene material?
Golden Yak Says:

September 30th, 2007 at 7:25 pm
"...he never learns..."

To be fair, that essentially describes John Bruce Thompson in a nutshell.
The National Gay News reported the event with this article http://nationalgaynews.com/content/view/1742/

and here's what Jack Thompson wrote in the comments of said article

"This article is false and defamatory and thus libelous and actionable. I look forward to proving just that in a court of law.

Jack Thompson, Attorney"
Oh and Jack, who claims a "victory" by writing "I have in fact accomplished what nobody else, it seems, had the fortitude to do. I got this obscenity off a Florida's lawyer website where is was really accessible, free of charge, to children" would probably like to know that the links the claims were removed because of his actons are back
Jack Thompson; the Paul Revere of the Gay Porn Industry.

"The Gays are coming, the Gays are coming!".
Jack Thompson will probably be found in contempt of court for this. Gay Porn in public documents is the same as public lewdness and violates most US state indecency acts.

At the very least, he'll lose his license barring official hearings into this issue. At the very most, he'll be put in the slammer on a minimum term due to a "past history" of this kind of action.
Wow, did anyone else think that Jack's explanation of the situation was a little stupid? I mean even for Jack it was pretty weak.
@Baggie

Yet in his world it's rock solid and completely un-contestable.
@ HandofCrom

Nice quote of Bluto from Animal House

@ Rich

Not only that, but one of the actresses in the movie, Martha Smith, is a Playboy Playmate(Miss July 1973).
i read that ngn article and i found this to be very creepy of thompson , stalking some radio guy - "Thompson was originally charged with stalking the host, a Broward Circuit Court judge entered a permanent injunction and restraining order against Thompson, protecting Rogers"

if thats not crazy i dont know what is
@ Johnny

What's funny is Jack's comment is the only comment posted.
Did anyone else notice that he did not do the usual CAPS LOCKZ TEH JACK THOMPSON thing? His name is all in lower case. I think his Ego deflated to roughly the size of Jupiter this time. He knows he is fucked... He is just to prout to admit it.

Jack Thompson, you know you went too far this time. We know you went too far. YOu lost, and this time you have only yourself to blame. You brought your downfall on yourself and you will get no sympathy from me.
Black people do smell like watermelons.
@Archgabe

Yeah I noticed that he doent capitalize the first letters in his name. Thats been bothering me too.
bet hes banged a couple of nigger chicks in his time.
Uh, Matteo, there's no need for that language.
Jack Thompson: "Why did it have to be me?"
God: "What in my name are you doing here?"
@ Archgabe

Dude, he never got ANY sympathy out of ANY of us. Cuz you know where in the dictionary you find it kekeke.
Yes, that is REALLY uncalled for.

Using that kind of language here somewhat justifies some of what he says about us. Sure we sometimes swear in disbelief. Lord knows I've often thought, "Jesus Christ, just what the hell is he thinking?!" and wrote it in my comments on occasion.

But what you said is a definite racial slur, and I don't care what color of your skin is, a racial slur is never okay to use. We could go on about whether it's okay to use it when referring to yourself if you feel that it refers to yourself, but the fact of the matter is that we don't know the color of your skin and therefore we can't tell if you're being down right insulting, or just using your common everyday lingo.

So just like Imperialist Agenda said, "there's no need for that language."

Now moving on to John Bruce "DUUUUUURRRRRRRR MY NAME IS JACKY!" Thompson.

The guy has no supporters.

Flat out, he has no one on his side. The people he cites quotes from, the "research" he claims in his rants and tirades, even the people that have issues with the video game industry have all DISTANCED THEMSELVES from him!

And with good cause! He may be sane, but he's as dumb as a pile of bricks. And I say that not just because of his blatant ignorance of video games, the culture behind it, the history of video games...

...hell he knows JACK SQUAT about games period!

But the fact that he lacks knowledge of the practice of LAW, his bread and butter, and is willing to have his license taken away for him because he feels that will make him a martyr...

...THAT is sheer stupidity.

He doesn't listen to his peers, he doesn't listen to people who have tried talking sense with him, and he doesn't even listen to people who actually have agreed with him. He is on the way to ruin, and is oblivious to the fact that we are pretty much the only people who acknowledge him and recognize him.

Sure we recognize him to be an absolute tool, but even so, that's as far as he gets.

Discrediting MULTIPLE blogs about LAW, BY LAWYERS, that are read NATIONALLY just because they say things about him is not just idiotic...

...it's INCOMPETENT!

He NEVER learns from his mistakes. He NEVER EVER gets the point that what he is doing is trying to do things that are unconstitutional.

I have to imagine what his wife and son think about his behavior? Is he even still married? What does he family think about his single-minded campaign? Do they agree with him, or think that he's chasing windmills?

We know now that he's sane. But is he smart enough to realize the error of his ways and cease this lunacy? Personally, I think he has about as much of a chance as a snowball does in Hell.

He refuses to listen to judges, he refuses to listen to other lawyers, he refuses to listen to people that try and counter-point his arguments, he refuses to listen to people that are actually kind of sympathetic to his cause.

He has isolated himself in a dream world that he whole-heartedly believes. And as long as he continues down this path, he will be sad, pitiful, and lonely man.

When he loses his law license, I expect his wife to leave him and take their son with her (if she hasn't left him already). I expect him to be jailed for trying to sue the Florida and even Federal legal in what will be deemed a frivolous case. I expect David Walsh, Mr. Greenberg, Leland Yee, and everyone that he thinks are his friends to go "Jack who?". I expect that Jack will fall to lowest depths of humanity, clutching only his faith that he thinks he was right.

So a message to Jack:

Are you truly willing to cut all ties from everyone, lose your job, and sacrifice your livelihood all for the sake of a one-man crusade against video games?

Because if you are, I feel sorry for you. I truly do.

And when you are gone, we will forget you. Many who have no sympathy for you whatsoever will celebrate your fall. They will cheer and party, and relish your utter humiliation and defeat. Others will just shrug their shoulders and go, "Oh well... sucks to be him", and walk away.

In the end, everyone will forget about you. Maybe occasionally going, "Hey remember that one crazy lawyer that was against games? What's his name again?"

"I dunno."

That will become all you were ever be.

You are digging your own grave John Bruce Thompson. Digging it with a steamshovel.

~Otaku-Man
@HandofCrom: No offense taken. You were actually kinda polite, and your apology even more so. But then, I'm pretty hard to offend. I need to figure out where they're pumping the drugs into the AC at...

@Otakuman: I don't know if you have been following the site long enough, but probably about a year and a half to two years ago, a lot of us on this site were begging for Jack to get help because we began to believe that he has a narcissitic disorder (or something like that). Quite frankly, I still think he does. His claims to be certifiably sane don't really jive with our experiences of him here.

Of course, in some of his interviews and such done face to face, he seems quite calm and polite. I'm very curious in the psychology of the man, although I may not care for him or think he's that important.
What I keep finding funny about this and so far most people have missed was that the oh so holy JT actually had to surf and look at these pics just to get them.
Its funny, but Jack doesn't realize that he and Howard Stern are two peas in a pod. They are both racist fucks. The difference being Thompson thinks he is the only racist fuck who should be protected by free speech. I submit that:

“Ever bang any famous nigger chicks? What do they smell like? Watermelons?”

Is just as bad as:

"You know, there are sociopaths everywhere. Some of them are in government, some of them are at TakeTwo. In fact, we got a bunch of sociopaths in Edinburgh, Scotland, sittin' around in kilts sippin' their single malt whiskey spreading racial, hurtful stereotypes in this country."

and

"The Bible doesn't promote killing innocent people, Grand Theft Auto does. Islam does. Islam promotes the killing of innocent people. The Quran requires the infidel, whether Jew or Christian, to be killed. ... That's a core essence of the religion. ... Muhammad was a pirate who killed infidels and who advocated the killing of infidels. Not a nice guy. Osama bin Laden is in keeping with his fine tradition."

and

"GTA is a Sony/Take-Two game. It was made by Take-Two exclusively for Sony's Playstation 2. Sony has led the planet in the distribution of mainstream porn. I don't have time to document it for you. As for the offensiveness of the Pearl Harbor comment, it's accurate and it's needed. The Japanese have a contempt for our culture which is patent. There [sic] dumping of garbage into our culture is a slow motion version of Pearl Harbor."
You know, if some of you think Christians are thin-skinned, I have to wonder what you think about the Muslims who blew their stacks over cartoons.

But hey, back on topic...

See, what I wonder about is that if JT is that seriously concerned about -- well, let's call it the 'coarsening of popular culture', that sounds good. If he's that worried, why not target:

1) Movies. They're releasing Saw IV this October. Gah. You'd think that franchise would be dead, but no...

2) Music: I don't care if some idiots declare it's their 'culture', gangsta rap is pretty damned offensive. I'm not asking for Fred Astaire here, but let's at LEAST shoot for not referring to your harem as 'ho's'.

And while we're at it, someone tell Britney Spears her 15 minutes are up. Kthxbai.

3) Television: There's a reason I don't watch a lot of TV (the only series I followed last year was Heroes). Same problem as movies, it's crap most of the time.

Why not tackle those mountains? Probably because JT lacks the intestinal fortitude to do so. Those are heavyweights, compared to video games, and could easily lean in and crush JT like an errant cockroach. So he hunts the easy target.

And yet this easy target refuses to lie down. Video game laws are 0 for 9 in the U.S. -- repeatedly struck down by judges who say 'Um, First Amendment says NO.' You'd think after 2-3 times he'd have gotten the hint.

It's funny, really. I lean libertarian/conservative (and it gets lonely in here sometimes. Cricket, cricket). And yet my view is the same as most posters here; you can't restrict games unless you plan to restrict all other creative media, and that's a violation of the First Amendment.

Now I just need to convert some of you to strict interpretation of the Second Amendment, and nobody will be taking ANYONE's games away. Heh heh heh.

--TR
Jack seriously needs to exercise his Right to Remain Silent. Everything he says can and will be used against him. They don't even have to try!
hmmm... I have only partially read the letter linked to in Thompson's comment (he may have made another, but these Thompson comments get big quick so I mostly skim).

My thought on the matter, and this may change after reading the whole thing (but I doubt it) is that Thompson's defense in putting up those pictures goes something like this:

"All of the other lawyers hate me, and they do drugs. They also support gay people, which is evil. Since being gay is evil, gay pr0n is even worse. But you don't know what pr0n, see, so I have to show you that they actually found a way to engage in that sort of activity. See?"

My answer to this generalized summary is this: Yeah, nobody is that dumb. Everybody knows what goes on there. You don't need to display it. And especially, you don't need to put that in a public document so that EVERYBODY of EVERY AGE can see it. That's uncalled for.

I try as hard as I can to view JT as just another guy who believes strongly in his cause, but he just makes it so difficult. The closest I've come is with his interview on gT, but even there the only reason he was being semi-normal was (in my opinion) because he thought that they hated GP. Oh, and I love how everybody who agrees with him is "unbiased" and everybody with a diverging opinion is "against him". So, where are the people that are biased in his favor? I guess they don't exist... which I can't say I disagree with, actually, but not for the same reasons.
a little clarification... when I said "Thompson comments" i meant all comments listed in a Thompson-related article. There are a lot, so I don't read them all.
@OtakuMan:

I can't believe I'm quoting Doctor Who but when I saw the episode, the quote just fits him like a glove:

"You'll be just a footnote in the history books!"

... I don't remember the exact quote, but it fits quite aptly, don't you think?
@/b/:

"The Lazarus Experiment"

@ RaZor:

No he'll be just a footnote, if that.
you know when an atterny (spelling?) has gone bad:

1: He sends his son out to provoke people into doing illegal things not once but twice

2: He tries to re-write the law (The T2 parody thing)

3: When he gets mad at bloggers

4: when he deliberatly go's out to find "offensive" things in games just to be able to sue, like his statement that the SIMS was a murdering simulator and I believe that was also something about Sims 2 being an incest simulator... XD (maybe he's addicted to sueing people...)

5: When he sends GAY PORN to a judge... (yeh Jack... might have bitten off more than you can chew there.
lol jack just shut up. every time you open your mouth you bury yourself deeper into the grave you have been digging for your "career". how does it feel to have just about every person you come in contact with consider you to be the douche of douchebags? do you realize that once you get disbarred thats going to be the only title you will be able to claim? you sure are picking a hell of a way to retire man. god help you. actually scratch that, god probably thinks your a douchebag too.
Errrm, Hand of Crom, I always thought Pearl Harbour was bombed by the Japanese not the Germans........

You people are fools for even commenting on this idiot JT's rantings, He's a loony and would be best ignored until he goes away. You just encourage him.
@ dav

If we ignored him, he'd get louder, and (somehow) more idiotic. Also, there's the fact that if we ignored him, he'd think he's won. And if it means encouraging him, so be it. I just don't want him to think that because us gamers have been silenced that it's an admission of guilt.
Right, the Lazarus Experiment. That was a VERY good episode. I think I also read a line like that in the Doctor Who: Missing Adventures novel, "Evolution". It was a really good read, and had the 4th Doctor giving a similar line to a crooked Industrialist.

Still, if JT is Lazarus, does that make us the Doctor(s)?

:)

And no fears quoting Doctor Who. He's getting a lot more popular stateside these days! :) (thank you Sci-Fi channel and BBC America!)

~Otaku-Man
@ myrpok
I received a packet at my home, through the mail yesterday, from a gay sex advocacy organization on how to“come out of the closet.””

Even more funny is the timing, someone planed sending him that well before his current gay porn problem....
@OtakuMan - your rather long post was a good read. I commend you, good sir!
Next time Jack, send the picture evidence to my email. I'll take a good look at them.
@ dav

HandofCrom was directly quoting a scene from the movie Animal House.
@You may call me /b/

Exactly. During that whole spell where he had his 'heart condition,' the vast majority of people here were showing their concern for his health, (including myself) maybe two or three deciding to the alternative. But then he comments going 'Thanks for all the insults, Dennis, you bastard.' And that's where i lost all remaining concern for him, health-wise or otherwise.
>shakes head
You know, being an atheist doesn't make you a bad person Jack, just like being Gay doesn't.

I have a cousin who's gay. He's also a doctor. OH WHAT NOW!

I have a friend who's atheist. He wants to be in the FBI, or else to be a REAL lawyer (read not ambulance chaser).

Neither of these people is bad, and while I may not agree with them 100% all the time, I don't run around saying "they're bad cuz they're different!".

Jesus taught tolerance, which is why he was always helping the lowly, the whores, etc. You must have read the bible and missed the whole fucking point. Or never read it at all.

Fixing italics
He's a Born again Christian...worst kind of Christians. They think they were in hell before and now heading to heaven. So they feel the need to express their beliefs more forcefully. Because "they know" how things are now....

I'm and atheist. I play ultra-violent "murder simulators". I've played violent games since Mortal Kombat came out. I was ripping off heads at the age of 10.

I listen to heavy metal music. Hell, you may even call it "satanic", although you'd be sorely mistaken. But that wouldn't be the first time you jumped the gun.

I'm an avid hunter, and I'm a gun owner.

I've done my fair share of drugs as well.

By any "specialist" standards. I would probably be a problem to soceity. I should be able to kill without remorse, and ultimately feared in my community. I mean I play violent video games, and I am a hunter...so I'm probably mentally unstable right?

Wrong...I may be a bit morbid...but I assure you 90% of the population is Morbid. Hence why violent video games/ violent movies sell. If they didn't have a market, they woulnd't sell. If they didn't sell, people wouldn't make the games. Its simple business really.

Also, with all this "murder training" i've recieved, you'd think I'd be able to take a deer down without any problems right?

Hmmm, oddly enough, even after 15 years of violent video game playing, and after harvesting 4 deer. I still get nervous, anxious, and jumpy when a deer comes into my sights. I still have to remind myself to breathe deep, hold, and squeeze the trigger.

Shouldn't this all be second nature?

Shouldn't I be a problem to society instead of being labeled by neighbors and police officers as a very respectable, pleasant, stable minded individual? Even though I play games where I have to option to kill cops and pedastrians?

If you'd answer my questions...thad would be great.
Hah. Jack IS a "cold soul" who doesn't know victory or defeat. He wouldn't know defeat if it were staring him in the face!...Which it is.
So, so tempted to say something about the phrase "the worm has turned", but that was already done in another story.
Ya know, I was thinking - twice now, Jack has used his son to buy M-rated games to prove a point. Yet here, he acts differently. I only see two possibilities:

1) Jack make his son download the gay porn, to prove it's accessible to minors.

2) Jack knows the games aren't near as bad as he's saying, and didn't get his son involved in this one because of it.

#1 certainly seems more his style - screw the consequences, screw what damage he does to other people.
Regarding http://nationalgaynews.com/content/view/1742/, notice that JT's comment has been deleted.
Ahahaha... so I read JTs letter. It's really sad to see how far he's deluded himself into believing his bullshit. I love how he credits himself for successfully removing the pornographic content, THAT WAS NEVER ON THE SITE IN THE FIRST PLACE! JT... you clicked an advertisement, likely a content based advertisement, that likely picked up the myriad of other porn sites you visit, and gave you advertisements relative to what they thought you'd like.
Oh, and it's also nice to see he has no concept of separation of Church and State, and openly admits that his 'crusade' is based on his own personal religious moral beliefs. Sorry, but you can't pass a law just because your religion says it's wrong. Does that mean we'll eventually have crusaders to pass laws preventing anyone from eating meat on Friday? Or driving a car on Saturday? Or preventing pork from being killed in an 'unjust' manner? Or how about one declaring the cow a sacred animal, and all burger joints need to shut down?
I really don't like Jack Thompson, that isn't a secret, especially to people who know me. He is constantly trying to destroy my favorite past time, and the career I have been steadily working toward for years now (video games). He tarnishes the reputation of my personal set of beliefs (Christianity) with very blatantly un-Christian worths and actions. He is one of the people which represents why the legal system is so convoluted and frustrating as it is. He also displays a very high level of what I'd guess could be megalomania and paranoia (mind you, without me having really any training to be able to give a real prognosis on that int he slightest). He's seemingly incredibly narcissistic. The man is mostly a source of humor for the gamer community, but also an annoyance which really just needs to learn to shut up. He gets far more publicity than he deserves, and unfortunately is quite adept at being able to get that publicity -- whether gaming sites like GamePolitics gives it to him, or the mass media does. He is actively seeking to get legislation written that puts a limit on everyone's freedoms in the USA, and believes he is completely justified to do so. The man just plain sickens me.
@Jack Thompson
"The worm has turned in the gay porn filing matter, kiddies. I provided the proof to Dennis McCauley. He refuses to share it."

By calling us "kiddies", you just admitted to intending to distribute pornography to minors which happens to be a crime.
@JT

"The worm has turned in the gay porn filing matter, kiddies. I provided the proof to Dennis McCauley. He refuses to share it."

You mean like how you attached gay porn to a public document thereby distribution it to minors since they can have access to said public document? If Kent is guilty, then so are you. If Kent isn't guilty, you still are.

I just thought of this, even though I'm not sure how it'd apply XD "If the phallus doesn't fit, then you must acquit!"
@Jack

If there's evidence of it, post it and link it in the comments. You have every ability to provide us with the evidence, instead you spend your time crowing about it's existence, but not ponying up.
Also, now that I've downloaded that letter, I have the address of (presumably) your office, email address, the email addresses of all those attorneys and judges, as well as your phone number?

Being a concerned citizen of a North American country, can I send you scores and scores and scores of all kinds of email about this issue and others?

Being that I'm a helpful kinda guy, perhaps I can go to all those gay porn sites and sign you up for their newsletters! Please let me know if this is something that you'd like me to do for you!
Other than repeating what everyone is saying ...*I seem to always catch these articles after a million and one comments /sigh*
...you know I've given up on being angry with him. Now I just laugh AT him. *and point don't forget the pointing*
After reading that letter Dennis linked here I'm going to have to pull a page from high school when I would proof read and edit people's papers.

1) Point? Is there one? Language is unclear and subject matter is disjointed. Focus on one point and stick with it.

2) You strayed from the subject matter and started a monologue about your own life. Recommend full rewrite of letter with emphasis of staying on the subject at hand.

3) Total lack of professionalism or tack in the letter, and is more suited to an early writing project by a 5th grader. Recommend a refresher course in professional letter writing, or to dictate said letter to someone who can organize the structure and make it presentable.

Basically Jacko, if this was anything other than the 5th or 6th grade you'd have gotten a C- or worse had I graded it. Considering how expensive a legal degree is I'd suggest that you brush up on your basics first before you tackle retaking your whole college education.
@GryphonOsiris

too little too late hes getting disbarred
Did JT just call the members of this site kiddies?
I'm positive the majority of posters here are of an age 25+
Grow up Jack, you are a grown man, act like one.
According to a new story on NGN, jack has gone even further in his attempts to make the world think that he is crazy. Apparently he has filed as many as 74 additions to his lawsuit against the bar and it seems the judge has had enough. Read more at http://nationalgaynews.com/content/view/1771/173/

Some choice clips from the Judge's latest ruling:

"Meanwhile, Judge Jordan ignored Thompson’s pleadings and instead published a two page order reprimanding and chastising the lawyer for his continuing lack of professionalism in this case.

The court’s ruling today declared that Thompson does not have “a free reign to unnecessarily flood the docket in this case with a series of motions…that have no bearing on the issues in dispute in this case.” The Court noted that he has filed over 74 motions in this case alone, and that most were inconsequential and irrelevant.

Judge Jordan added that while Thompson “may have think this case is a war with the world regarding the state of moral standards, it is not.” The court does not have “jurisdiction over moral standards,” Jordan wrote.

The order was issued at just about the same time Thompson filed his latest pleading incorporating the totebag incident, and the Court has not yet addressed this filing. It did however, sanction and limit the number of pleadings and documents Thompson may file in the future. Judge Jordan ruled that Thompson’s conduct in this suit was “unreasonable” and “would no longer be tolerated.”"

It just keeps getting better and better... or worse and worse if you are poor old Jack.
@Shoehorn's post

Gee, and I thought the rambling letters that Jack thought were such a sure shot to further his case that he chastised Dennis for being "too scared" to post them. Hey Jack, doesn't look like your plan worked. Well you have one more ace up you sleeve. Yes, the only answer is MORE GAY PORN!
Uhh Erik... I'd rather not thank you. I don't know about you personally, but gay porn is not relevant to my interests.
Yeah, the worm did turn all right, but not in Jack's favor.

Jack's career is essentially on life support at this point.
@rb_lestr

Calling us "kiddies" is par for the course with JT. Of course, calling Dennis "sweetie" did make most of us feel a little ill, but we're accustomed to being denigrated as children by this infatile man who doesn't understand video games--or their players and our average ages--at all.
@Coravin:

Or understand much of anything, for that matter...
@DarkTetsuya

Got me on that one. Although I still believe that JT should be ordered to a psychiatric institution where he can receive the help a narcissistic sufferer of such extreme paranoid delusions needs, he is at least guaranteeing that he'll be out of law practice in one manner or another, and no threat to games or anything but himself.

I am afraid, however, that if he snaps (further), people will be hurt. It's odd, and hard to believe our psychiatric and psychological programs haven't stepped in long before now, when reading this man's diatribes and threats and seeing legal resolution approach so tardily and lackadaisically.

If our legal and mental professions can't enjoin to seek treatment a public figure who is a self-aggrandizingly proliferous displayer of his own mental instability, it becomes sadly apparent why we fail so many who aren't public figures and whose mental degradation can go unnoticed or unreported, or simply un-acted-upon, until some blatant and sometimes horrific display of their messed up mental state occurs.
@ shoehorn

he he he, karma's a bitch man, I'm telling you, he had this coming for a long time, and I'm pretty sure JT has officially sealed the deal for his disbarrment if he didn't do it already.
Christ said "Hate your neighbour as you hate yourself"

Wait, that's not what he said..... Johnny boy, I think you need to re-read your Bible. Something's not right!
@shoehorn

nice find, I'm now rooting for jordan, the guy presiding over jacks future has realised what an asshole he is, very good news for everyone (except JT)
Now there's an update from the link Shoehorn O'Plenty posted:

Thompson responded Monday evening to the Judge’s new order with a stunning seven page motion to recuse Judge Jordan, attacking the jurist personally for “illegal and unethical conduct,” at page 2 of his pleading.

Thompson added the judge acted “foolishly,” entering an illegal order that was a “masterwork in mendacity,” remarking that the judge’s order was “the single worst disregard of the truth that Thompson has seen in his 31 years of practicing law.”

Not finished there, then Thompson added at page 3 that Judge Jordan was nothing more than a “schoolyard bully,” who was still in law school while Thompson was a “foot soldier in the culture war.”

Thompson, in his next sentence added that Judge Jordan was playing “an amateur psychologist,” and had “disgraced the federal bench, violated its oath of office, and lost any presumption of impartiality and any semblance of decency.”

On page 4 of the motion Thompson added that the Court (Judge Jordan) knowingly lied (‘prevaricated,’ he wrote) in its September 24 order, and acted outside its judicial authority, threatening to sue the judge personally for damages, claiming “this federal judge….does not know the law.”

On the next page, Thompson concludes the Court was “careless and set a snare for itself,” proving its “patent bias” which stem from the Court’s “loyalty to the Florida Bar elitists and their ilk.”

Then, on page 6 of his motion to recuse Judge Jordan, he adds that before him is a jurist “for whom the facts and the law….mean nothing,” concluding that the Judge had “made up facts and misrepresented the law.”

Finally, Thompson reasoned that the court has to disqualify itself because it has “revealed its animus to him.”

However, one legal expert who reviewed the pleading says that once again the document failed to comply with the federal rules and was “legally insufficient.” Though choosing not to be identified, he said that Thompson has “all but assured this Court will sanction him severely, right up to direct criminal contempt,” a sanction that could lead to jail or fines.

In an earlier pleading Thompson dared Judge Jordan to put him in jail. “He may now get his wish,” the NGN source stated.

Sounds like Jack’s going to PMITA prison.
Threatening the Federal Courts? Check

Repeatedly violating procedures that are supposedly taught in Law School (or common sense)? Check.

I'm quite surprised that he hasn't got his license revoked yet.
You don't really need or want that lifestyle, it might hurt y'all slowly more.......Just tell him you
don't wanna repeat something your not too proud of z7uas.
