Kotaku Releases Holiday Video Greeting

December 31, 2007
Okay, we now know two things about Kotaku:
1.) they've gone the GamePolitics Holiday Podcast one better, raising the bar for future online greetings
2.) these guys can't sing worth a lick

Check out their terrific Still Not Banned Kotaku Kristmas Kard...

Lovely vid, if a little cheezy.

uh... ewww. XD They need lessons. Badly.

The singing was ok, just off the beat. I liked it.

Was kinda shite to be honest.

Im going off kotaku, i mean some of the scoops you get are good but having to put up with this kinda crap makes me wonder wether its worth my while.

That was a great idea. I love parodies but this seems to be hamstrung by a lack of time (the lyrics occasionally don't fit the melody's rhythm, some of the rhymes don't work) and the singers, frankly, aren't very good.

Sorry DarknessDeku but there is more wrong with the singing than simply being off beat. It was also consistently out of tune.

Now, I don't mean to come off as an elitist jerk. Heck, the singing bit I did for GP's own holiday podcast wasn't perfect: there were sync errors and I’m simply not a very good lead.

Or baritone.

Or tenor. Especially not tenor.

Still, it’s the thought that counts and Kotaku’s holiday card was very cute and a fun idea that I hope they improve on next year.

Happy New Year’s Eve,

Andrew Eisen

That. Was. The. WORST. thing. I. have. ever. seen.

EVER!

Still it was by gamers, and so it gets a 7.5/10 just for that.

I must say that I found the video and song delightfully charming. The last guy to sing was the worst. But the others were decent.

ZenI felt Brutal Legends was a funny & beautiful look at the world of rock from Double Fines point of view. The only parts I wasn't hot for were the RTS bits as it felt forced. Otherwise fantastic.02/12/2012 - 1:34pm
DorthLousPassed 1.5M$. And I'd also say that Brutal Legend is far from being a bad game. I just think it was a few levels under what people expected from the people working on the project.02/11/2012 - 8:25am
TechnogeekBrutal Legend wasn't bad so much as "marketing had no idea how the game actually played", causing it to suffer accordingly.02/10/2012 - 10:38pm
