The Federal Bureau of Investigation apparently has had enough of Jack Thompson. This bit of news comes from Thompson himself, by way of an e-mail that the embattled anti-game crusader shipped out yesterday. The message was cc'd to GamePolitics and dozens of others. Addressees include U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta, the chief federal prosecutor in south Florida.
The e-mail alleges - yet again - a conspiracy by the Florida Bar and Florida Supreme Court to persecute Thompson. It also claims that Thompson's personal e-mail account was hacked recently. He sees the Bar's hand in that, as well. Regarding the FBI, Thompson writes (emphasis GP's):
Despite your forwarding this matter, Mr. Acosta, to the FBI, the FBI has done nothing and refuses to talk to me.
With all respect, either the FBI takes this seriously—the computer hacking, the criminal use of lunacy proceedings, the whole nine yards... or I and others will do what we need to do.
As GamePolitics has previously reported, the Florida Supreme Court recently sanctioned Thompson by refusing to accept any filings from him. Now, it appears that the FBI has shut him out as well.
GP: Although I've never revealed it publicly, since 2005 Thompson has reported me to the Miami and Philadelphia offices of the FBI on at least five occasions, alleging all sorts of things, including violations of the Patriot Act.
Nothing ever came of these ridiculous allegations. I was never even contacted about them by the FBI. But I can tell you that being reported to the FBI is a frightening thing. It caused me a great deal of concern.
So, please forgive me if I LOL over Thompson's whining that the FBI is ignoring him.

Thinking about it... With as many reports that he files with the FBI and other branches of the federal and state government, someone somewhere must have to take the time to at least glance at the documents to see if they are of any merit. Meaning that a government worker has to read JT's garbage when he files a report...So, I wonder how much JT costs taxpayers every year? Theoretically, could these costs be reclaimed?
@Lard
Get on topic.
1. You ARE trolling. Your comments typically fall within these lines in the past and present and have usually gone ignored by the majority of posters here, but now you're being called out on it. Wether you care to notice it or not, you are intentionally derailing this topic with your personal crusade.
2. You're the only one here who is whinging about 'freedom of speech' being trampled. Not to mention, you pulled that particular card first. You claim that your speech is being stepped on, but yet your ! comments (aimed at Dennis and various posters here) remain posted instead of being deleted. Then continue on that YOUR rights are being affronted because OTHER people's comments AREN'T being deleted. Which way do you want it? You can't have it both ways, but yet you want it anyway. Seems like you want some Jack Thompson style free speech to me.
3. Bad press is caused by backlash when someone goes against the grain and makes a jerk comment? You could have easily emailed Dennis without any group reaction, but you chose to post it publicly. That gamers are making themselves look bad by banding together and attempting to point out a bad seed amongst the crowd? Not only do I point out that we are bringing to your attention that your commentary is undesirable, but I should point out that most folks have been fairly nice about reacting to your comments so far. If you think what you're reading is a horrible personal attack, then you need to visit some other forums and see how low the bar really is.
You fail, the only one "thin skinned" here is you.
So far I know it was:
1) Penny Arcade- nothing happened
2) Kotaku- nothing happened
3) Gamepolitics- nothing happened
4) Florida Bar- nothing happened
I think he also called the FBI over that AIM buddy icon stuff. Anything else I'm missing?
thats cause theres a conspiracy amoung all the parties (catcher in the rye has all the evidence you will ever need to prove this)
I wouldn't quite say LOL as to a "BUAHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHAAH OH WOW!"
Expecting the FBI to investigate that.... The FBI doesn't give a crap about some unknown "lawyer's" email account allegedly getting hacked, just like they don't give a darn about all the infected US PCs being used as botnets and spam gateways...
Oh well, at least he can be glad he hasn't had anyone hack his blog or myspace account, only because he doesn't have one despite his constant spew-age.
That reminds me, does one of his sites still have that embedded wav?
It is, as it should be. It should be obvious to anyone who isn't completely out of touch with reality that the FBI isn't JT's personal attack dog, to sic on whomever he so chooses.
Maybe the exchange admins and the FBI and blank-rome can get together and exchange techniques for filtering incoming JT-mail. Think of the fax machines that could be saved!
I think it's funny how you critisize people on this website...
Don't you think there are people who you should crtisize more like JT?
A liar? or somebody who reports about JT's actions?
So are you telling me you support a liar lard?
The first amendment gives us as much right to make personal attack on you and tell you to shut up, as it gives you the right to make personal attacks on Dennis and tell him to shut up.
Yes, calling Dennis a scammer in cahoots with Jacko, and telling hiim to be silent on the subject of Jack, is you making personal attacks on Dennis and telling him to shut up. However, you doing so isn't an infringment on his first amendment rights, as you haven't done anything to force him to be silent. Similarly the people calling you a troll and telling you to shut up and go away have every right to do so, and they to not infringe on your first amendment rights by doing that.
So kindly shut up and go away. Particularly if you don't like being insulted or criticized. Dennis has no obligation to silence your critics.
Probably as in his first post this thread Lard made a comment about
So apparently he at least subscribes to JT's idea that Dennis makes money off of the site.
Internetz: Hey JT.
JT: I'm working on a new book, and a few more laws...
Internetz: Yeah, about that. You're character twists are great and amusing and all, but I'm afraid that it might just be too idiotic for the kids. So I'm afraid I'm going to have to block you. You can have a cookie on you're way out.
the internet will never ban jt we love comedy!!!
sure you go ahead and have fun btw if the fbi call you down to the office for "further testimony" id umm run
On-subject, i'd be more than willing to bet money saying JT's e-mail was never hacked at all, and is another one of his self-indulgent lies to get false pity from naive gamers and passers-by.
This claim about his e-mail address being hacked comes from the same man who claimed another lawyer stated that JT is "the only lawyer in America that can help this family." in some case i can't remember off the top of my head. Who even SAYS that kind of corny drabble on the internet, let alone the real world?
i try =]
you should contact the fbi saying jack thomspon is out to get you and all the proof they need is in " catcher and the rye" (yes im a huge fan of salinger) it will be fun!
once hes disbarred with florida every other bar association will treat him like the black plague
http://jweb.flcourts.org/pls/docket/ds_docket?p_caseyear=2007&p_casenumb...
in other words the trash won't be thrown out for awhile lol
I find it relatively forgiving that they allowed the motions for rehearing and mediation. Once those were denied, his filings have been returned.
I find it a sort of "STFU" combined with "RTFM".
I actually love this part:
In the future, any documents filed in this case not signed by a member in good standing of The Florida Bar other than you, will be filed in a miscellaneous file we maintain in the Clerk's office.
Who can guess what that file is or where in the office it's located?
"Miscellaneous file" That's so great, let's see what are the options:
1. The trash bin
2. A special "read these for laughs" file
3. Literally the "Jack" file which needs to be emptied every 2 days because it takes up a whole drawer by then
My guess is that it is called File 13, is a round "folder" and resides under the Clerk's desk.
Is it just me, or does it sound like Thompson is threatening people with physical harm? He's sued others for less.
Owned.
@ everyone
Don't feed the troll.
I actually had that thought too. It seems to me like he's threatening a violent revolution against the Bar and any government group that gets in his way. No one makes a "will do what we need to do" sort of threat unless they mean bodily harm to others.
Maybe JT thinks he's royalty now. If he does, then the king needs to be dethroned.
Should it come to some kind of criminal investigation into Mr Thompson's actions, such as harassment or threats, then the evidence will be right there waiting.
A) Set up him the bomb
B) Tell the FBI to arrest him just to shut him up
C) All of the above
Personally, I'd pick C because A shows him how much we hate him, and B will relieve both the FBI and everyone else he has driven of the deep end.
But that's just me. What do you think?
Except FAUX... but then those who are intelligent actually ignore what they have to say anyway, so whatever.
@PHOENIXZERO:
I'm inclined to agree, actually.
Take off every Zig for great justice
Well, he already thinks he's Gods will made manifest, Christ, and several other hero's. I think he's more trying for Jedi, I seem to recall a similar line from Master Kenobi, something about "Only a sith deals in absolutes, I will do what I must," though it's interesting that JT appears to deal in absolutes too. Seems to be setting up a claim to have gone beyond the limits of good and evil, so that leaves either Divinely mandated royalty or Godhood as his next claim.
Not that he has delusions of grandeur or anything...
If ONLY he'd said something about terrorists THEN it would be so over the top I'd probably have spit water all over my screen!
Thanks for the laugh GP! I'm looking forward to hearing more about JT's screws becoming ever more loose.
I think the FBI has better things to do than bother with JT.
At least for now. If JT keeps his usual tactics of trying to annoy someone into doing what he wants (which has also always failed) I imagine JT could make it worthwhile to the FBI to deal with him. Mind you this doesn't mean they're likely going to look into anything he sends them, but more likely means JT will have a visit from one of them sometime.
Still, if JT sends enough letters it will cross a thresh hold where it becomes worth it to the FBI to bother with him. Just not in any way JT will be happy with.
Don't say that someone should "set him up the bomb"! He has no idea what a zerowing reference is and is probably already suing Dennis for bomb threats and death threats.
YEESSSH!
Fixed.
Uhh... Dude? If that wasn't allowed, let Dennis know so he can ban me. Heh heh heh heh... Then again, he can just edit it and delete it. ROFL
Heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh... That was good.
@Jack Thompson (the attorney), Anti-Thesis of Shadow Darkman

"Yo! Jack Thompson! YOU THE BOMB DAWG!"
Two hours later I'm sitting in a holding cell and enjoying my fifth full body cavity search as Jack Thompson sues me for not having enough money to be worth suing.
Then, no lie, he ate a live baby.
So ya know, don't give him ammo. The dude is sue happy and EATS BABIES.
...oh wait... I just realized. You have to make an OFFICAL police report for that to apply
*head desk*
We know JT just spams you... Nothing is ever done in an official capacity.
Dude, I don't care if that's true, but that is SO NOT FUNNY!
@Everyone
Who here knows how to play with the size of the text in our posts?
I need to take whatever medication he's taking.
