Take Two Will Webcast Stockholder Meeting

April 10, 2008
With a hostile takeover bid by EA on the agenda, Take Two Interactive has announced that it will offer a live, listen-only webcast of its annual shareholders meeting next week.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 17th at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time and will be held at the W Hotel Union Square in New York City.

The most interesting part of the meeting, of course, will be the EA matter. Will the game publishing giant gain its desired majority position in Take Two? If it does, will it install its own board of directors at next week's meeting?

By way of a sideshow, Jack Thompson, who apparently owns some small amount of T2 stock, has been demanding time to speak at the meeting.

Those who would care to listen to the meeting can do so via the investor relations section of T2's website.

Jabrwock,
And remember, John Bruce is well known for mouthing off and not following through with a great many things.

I wonder how that lawsuit against the police department in Utah (?) is going to force them to turn over documents to HIM about what was retrieved during the search of the most recent mall shooter's home?

As a very...minute shareholder (only 100 stocks but thats probably 99 more than good ol' JT) I would definitely vote no on an EA Take Over no matter how good EA made it sound or how much of a "White Knight" EA is to Take Two. Give me a break. They have ruined some good franchies and yes while their production and such has helped games like Rock Band sell millions I don't want them to even touch take two....at all.

I for one am Thankful I have the day off (of class and hopefully work) so I can see what is going on at this meeting....anyone know exactly how or where on the interwebs I can find this when this goes down next week?

Wheel jack Thompson out to the meeting like Hannibal Lecter in an Orange suit and face mask.

oh yes.

Man, I still hope EA doesn't take over T2, and giving Jack Thompson time to speak just screams "lulz waiting to happen", but I'm sure both EA and T2 won't let them in due to his shinagins.

IF YOU SAY SHENANIGANS ONE.MORE.TIME!

Anyway, sucks that they cant at least have moderated chat on it. Would give many of ust to tell EA to piss off and let creativity actually exist in the industry. Or im guessing thats why there isnt even moderated chat.

@ Andy

lol I can see it now..

@ EA

You ruined the Bond franchise.. IMO..

@ Everything else

Won't anyone with any reasonable amount of power in T2 be replaced by whatever cyborg yes-men EA is mass producing these days? I mean, after their defiance to the 'assimilation' how could EA trust them?

it should have a 5 second broadcast delay, so they can bleep out everything Jack Thompson says.

I really hope someone shout OVERRULED!!!!

At Thompson.

Just to give him nightmares.

I can just imagine the audio now if Thompson actually tries to speak:

Chairperson: Ok, let's begin then shall we? The previous year has-
JT: I demand to speak!
CP: Sir, please sit down, we're only starting and have an agenda to follow. Q&A isn't until the end of the meet-
JT: You moron! Have all those games fried your brain? You can't stop me from speaking!
CP: There will be opportunity to speak later, now if you'll just-
JT: You're trying to take away my 1st Amendment rights! It's because I'm a christian, isn't it? You mental molestors!
CP: I'm going to have to ask you to sit down, if you can't follow the rules you will be asked to leave.
JT: I knew it! Persecute the guy who doesn't follow the rules, you're in cahoots with the Florida Bar, aren't you! Did Macauley put you up to this?
CP: Sir, calm down or I'll have to call security!
JT: I have the proof right here! *Begins throwing pictures of downloaded gay porn around the room*
CP: SECURITY! Come to the board room immediately!
JT: Excellent! My plan is working perfectly!

I love you Jack Thompson.

I personally don't doubt Jack has plenty of T2 stock you don't just start giving a company free publicity without having something to gain...as for EA taking over T2 well I wouldn't be supprised if ea ruins everything...like always

My prediction? Time will run out before Thompson gets to speak, because there will be quite a few people wanting to speak about the EA takeover, or the "benefits package". IF he shows up. (remember last time?)

Sideshow? Haha, I like that.

@ Shoehorn O'Plenty

Well done sir. In addition, I assume he'd then explain to security that escorting him out of the room would somehow impair his religious freedom.

This should be a really interesting look into the industry, can't wait to see it!

If I recall correctly, Michael Moore and Mark Thomas did something similar buying a single share in a large company so they could attend shareholder meetings and potentialy cause some mischief.

I laughed my ass off at this! Dude, I fuggin' commend you for this! Where's that Nobel Peace Prize? Who has my Nobel Peace Prize? I wanna give it to this guy!

@ ShoeHorn O'Plenty

HAHAHAHAHAH! OMG!! Today is a day for comedy! Awesome post!

Give ShoeHorn O’Plenty a medal for that post!

Anyways, can't wait for the meeting, I'll probably listen to at least part of it. Should be interesting

@Shoehorn:

Sadly I imagine that's how it'll go down... hopefully they don't give too much floor time to the guy with one lousy share (it is one, right? doesn't really put him in too good a position in these things...)

Shoehorn that was amazing you deserve a medal or something.

@chadachada

I'm giving him the Nobel Peace Prize for that, so your medal can suck it!

@Shadow Darkman

...your medal can suck it!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! "Just kidding!" -Xianghua Chai (SoulCalibur 2)

@nightwng2000:

It's Omaha and, other than file it and send out a world-wide press release, Jack's taken no further action with the matter. I imagine it'll be soon dismissed for want of prosecution.

Jack's suit against Best Buy (also filed around the same time) suffers a similar fate, I believe.

I think I know what's going on...

1: Jack invests in T2.
2: Jack stirs up controversy regarding T2's games.
3: Controversy causes an increase of game sales.
4: ?????
5: PROFIT!

...or something like that.

@Nordic

Whoa, deja vu! Coulda sworn I read that same post somewhere else... Where was it...?

EA sucks for the most part (aside from a very few titles). Take Two, tell EA to stick it where Jack Thompson likes it
