GTA IV Leaked?

GTA IV Leaked?

April 23, 2008
Kotaku is reporting that the PAL version of GTA IV for the Xbox 360 may have been leaked:
At around 11:50am Greenwich Mean Time, the PAL version of Grand Theft Auto IV for the Xbox 360 was ripped and leaked to various torrent sites by a [group] called iCON...

YouTube clips have been popping up online of the game's opening and early missions — but as of posting, many of the clips have been taken down. The retail release is a mere six days away. This isn't the first GTA game leaked as San Andreas was as well. And it was leaked a week before, too.

GP readers may recall that Manhunt 2 was leaked by an SCEE employee last September.

UPDATE: The Telegraph has a bit more...

Can't wait for my pre-order. It might take a while to get here (having it amazon super snaily shipped), but it'll be worth it once I get my hands on it.
Neat. Grab that sweet leak!
I'd rather wait for the release than play or watch a ripped version.
Great, now who will bitch first this time?
@Jack Wessels

Yeah, but you know the fanboys will eat it up. No doubt a rockstar publicity stunt...media whores.
I went on youtube and there was a video of leaked GTA4 gameplay but when I clicked on the video it said that it has been removed from Take 2. Saying that it was a violation.
christ not again
I agree with Jack Wessels - I'll wait for the actual release, thank you.
Yeah the gameplay videos are all over the net.t
*Sigh* I remember accidentally ruining the ending of Halo 3 the night before it came out, watching a leaked vid on youtube...I'm boycotting youtube until GTA comes out just in case...
I'd rather wait to play the game.

@ chadachada

You accidently found the games ending and then watched the entire thing? You could have just clicked out of it...
Aaaannnndddd...????? Almost every game, especially blockbuster games are leaked.
This group doesn't realize how hurtful this is.

A good 69% of us are in fact Bush-haters!
oh just wait for the release.

you sillies....
Too bad Japan doesn't use PAL.
I'll wait for the release. I am simply not ready yet for the massive amount of awesome that GTAIV will bestow upon me.
Yeah It's leaked for real, and i'm playing it as we speak. I can tell you guys, don't expect top of the notch gameplay. It's much like Saints Row.
Good, I love Saints Row. Thats just how I wanted it to be.
I'll wait for it's official release thank you very much ;) .
Loyal fans to Rockstar will wait for the official release rather than playing a "stolen" version of the game. Part of the true experience of the game is getting it the same time as all the others.
Yea I am waiting for the game to come out, only 4 more days till I can get my hands on gta iv and it is well worth the wait.
Don't support piracy for a game like this- the games industry NEEDS to see that adult-oriented games make tons of $$.

The only way they will stand up against the zealots is to prove that its worth it to protect their right to make these games.
I think everyone who downloaded it early should get on X-Box Live so they can tell us how multiplayer is...

Mwaaahahahahaha!!!

I'm actually looking forward to... Mario Kart Wii. I might pick this one up later... maybe used.
The NTSC version was released about 12-18 hours after the PAL version.

JDKJ: But cheer up, Austin. If the unemployment rate continues to double-digit as predicted for the next few years, your half-dozen stands a better than likely chance of returning to power.

JDKJ: @DS: If he had added the line about "or hiring illegals aliens under the table to work as nannies," it would have been a completely perfect descripition. And, yes, it's about the same difference between a six and a half-dozen.

DarkSaber: My god, that description makes them sound almost Republican. Still what did you expect, Obama is only marginally more left than republicans.

Austin_Lewis: Health insurance, brought to you by the same kind of bureacrats who couldn't, in timely fashion, investigate the comments of any of the men Obama appointed Czars. Or their past. Or their history of not paying taxes.
Posted 11/08/09 at 01:06am
Austin_Lewis: Yes, and what a piece of crap it was. Arresting and fining people just because they don't make a personal choice to buy healh insurance, creating over a hundred new bureacracies, and worse.

JDKJ: BREAKING: In a photo-finish at the wire, House passes health care reform bill. Relatedly, in a fit of pique, Austin Lewis kicks innocent dog.

ZippyDSMlee: ggrrrrr......vista lost one of my hard drives and I had a heart attack thinking I lost 1TB of data....
Posted 11/07/09 at 10:58am
JDKJ: Which could be explained by both (a) and (b).
Posted 11/07/09 at 10:56am
Austin_Lewis: JDKJ: You forgot C) the fact that, for some reason, every time he did something that would suggest he shouldn't be in the military, let alone an officer, higher ups ignored it or let it slide.
Posted 11/07/09 at 10:51am
JDKJ: Part of the problem is, I believe, that (a) the Army had a lot of time and money already invested in him and which they were unwilling to simply write-off and (b) an increasing need for the type of skills and services he provided.
Posted 11/07/09 at 10:48am
JDKJ: And that even if he was begging not to get cut loose, he was apparently a real good candidate for being cut loose, anyway.
Posted 11/07/09 at 10:11am
JDKJ: @chada: And while Kennedy once noted that there's usually more than enough blame for everyone to get a slice, the possibility that the Army was unwilling to cut loose someone who was asking to get cut loose could be a factor.
