Gamecock Promotes Hail to the Chimp in Philly During PA Primary

April 24, 2008
Irrepressible Gamecock Media Group CEO Mike Wilson was in Philadelphia on Tuesday as the hoopla surrounding this week's Democratic Pennsylvania primary reached its peak.

Wilson and his crew were on hand to promote the soon-to-be-released Hail to the Chimp. Described as a "Presidential Party Game," Hail to the Chimp was developed by Wideload Games and will be published by Gamecock for Xbox 360 and PS3 on May 27th.

In the pic at left, one of the game's characters is shown with the famed Rocky statue at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

GameCock is a publisher, not a developer so go after the developers. Also, GameCock has only published three games so far and only the DS version of Insecticide has not gotten great reviews. Though they may seem crazy and stupid, they do have good taste when it comes to publishing quality games lie Demetrium and Fury, and they are very supportive of their developers. They are a great independent publisher to have in the gamming community.
Alex Seropian is my hero.
Umm, why do we pay attention to Gamecock? Their games are terrible. It seems that they only exist to try and do stupid things to create controversy.
Although GameCock can sometimes be guilty of asshat behavior, I think its time to move on. People learn from their mistakes and now its time to concentrate on the games, not the spectacle that is the publishers.
I feel dirty saying "Gamecock."
[...] With apparently little or no warning, several key-members of the RetroStudios staff have left the Austin based dev house… there are currently no updates on whether or not this will lead to the formation of a new studio, however, there are some *rumors* that this is in direct response to the way in which Nintendo has gone about asking employees to relocate. Gamecock Media is promoting Hail to the Chimp during a pres-primary in Philadelphia. Gamecock Media is awesome, they’re funny and silly and occasionally they publish games too! Minusworld is releasing a very funny (and highly satirical) activity and coloring book for GTAIV. Please remember, that this is obviously meant to be ironic with regards to actually ‘hocking violence to the kiddies’… [...]

BearDogg-X: JDKJ: What does the wallabies and crocodiles think of Skippy?
Posted 03/20/10 at 10:24pm
Andrew Eisen: Beardogg-X - Not staunchly, no. However, only one AG has gone on record as supporting an R18+ rating. The rest either stated no position or declined to comment.

JDKJ: Of 437 koala bears surveyed, 420 disagree with choice of Skippy for interim AG.

BearDogg-X: With Atkinson stepping down, the question now becomes was there any other AG besides him that was against R18+? His stepping down does make R18+ more likely to be approved.

Andrew Eisen: Well, Adelaide readers seem pleased with Atkinson's decision. 420 out of 437.

Andrew Eisen: Flamespeak - Gamecube and Xbox came out in late 2001 with contollers pretty similar to the Dual Shock. You never know thoug. This Fall may be when the standard controller changes from the Dual Shock to a motion wand. *shudder*

Flamespeak: at a quicker rate these days.

Flamespeak: I believe that was launched in the first part of 1998. 2 years seems kind of fast too, but then again the world seems to move

Andrew Eisen: Flamespeak - Not when you consider Sony's been using the same controller since the PS1.

BearDogg-X: Andrew Eisen: I meant that it won't take as many people to change their votes next election. Besides that, it's become a moot point now that he's stepping down as AG as soon as the election's over.
Posted 03/20/10 at 10:02pm
Flamespeak: Seems kind of early considering the PS2 didn't launch until well into 2000.

Andrew Eisen: Fleamespeak - I'd say since around the turn of the century.

BearDogg-X: BREAKING NEWS: Atkinson will step down as South Australia Attorney-General; will remain in Parliament
Posted 03/20/10 at 09:59pm
Andrew Eisen: BearDogg-X - Not sure what your point about Atkinson having only 8500 votes is, seeing as that's around 65% (of the total votes counted at the time).
