Satire: GTA IV Activity Book For Kids

April 24, 2008
With Grand Theft Auto IV critics claiming that Rockstar's controversial new release will corrupt America's youth, Minusworld is having a bit of fun with a parody feature detailing a GTA IV activity and coloring book for kids.

Given the amount of misinformation bandied about concerning video games (e.g., virtual rape), we wonder whether this satire will eventually find its way into the various claims of how "depraved" GTA is:
They say GTA IV isn't for kids, but there's even a coloring book...

@Cheater87

Let me guess, Jack and every antigamer media outlet/politition/watchdog groups/parents org/teacher org/church org in going to think there actually is a 'GTAIV Activity Book For Kids' and turn a deaf ear to everyone else that tells them it's satire.

wow, thats inspired

XD I can't wait to here what Jack has to say.

Let's see...

1. A guy beating a prostitute to death
2.Someone buying drugs
3. Scene from Superbad

For something not made by Rockstar, it sure fits the bill for their style of satire. Loved it.

That was hilariously awesome :p .

@Sean

i think we have a winner

HILARIOUS!! I love it!

Heh. Awesome.

This will only work on those who have a grasp of what satire is.

@lothar

Jackpot

Simply brilliant. Look for it at your local book burning or Fox News.

Can we please distribute this to the mainstream media? They'll look like complete asses.

If this makes the news then this will be the funniest joke on them. The coloring book that never existed.

@Cheater87 Says:

I understand that he's so ridiculous it's funny at times, but personally I'm tired of hearing from/about him. And frankly, I'm getting sick of people dragging his name into the comments on every post on GP. He may have a habit of sticking his nose where it's not relevant or wanted, but I really do think we should just leave him out of things that don't concern him.

Also, sorry if this seems to be picking on you or singling you out; it's not meant to, but your comment was the last instance of this in a string of several. I'm just tired of reading his name in 2/3 of the comments on every story; I'm interested in the other 1/3, which frequently feature the intelligent discussion that got me hooked on GP in the first place. Sorry for being cranky.

ZenI felt Brutal Legends was a funny & beautiful look at the world of rock from Double Fines point of view. The only parts I wasn't hot for were the RTS bits as it felt forced. Otherwise fantastic.02/12/2012 - 1:34pm
DorthLousPassed 1.5M$. And I'd also say that Brutal Legend is far from being a bad game. I just think it was a few levels under what people expected from the people working on the project.02/11/2012 - 8:25am
TechnogeekBrutal Legend wasn't bad so much as "marketing had no idea how the game actually played", causing it to suffer accordingly.02/10/2012 - 10:38pm

ddrfr33kHas anything Tim Schafer ever made been of crap caliber? I'm struggling to think of one...02/10/2012 - 7:37pm
GuamishI think it is in good hands. Tim did a game for the GDC award show and that was fun for how short it was.02/10/2012 - 12:22pm
Andrew EisenIt'll be tragic if the game ultimately sucks.02/10/2012 - 12:17pm
