GTA IV Culture: More Parodies & a GTA IV Munny

April 28, 2008
Last week we gave a mention to Minusworld's tongue-in-cheek GTA IV Activity Book for Kids.

This morning we note that Crackle.com has posted a pretty funny GTA IV parody video (left).

Minusworld takes another (not quite as clever) bite of the GTA IV apple with a satirical article explaining why Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper is begging Rockstar to create Grand Theft Auto: Montreal as its next installment in the series

Finally, an artist by the name of Scave has apparently created a custom GTA IV munny (left) for Rockstar.

The munny features, of course, GTA IV protagonist Niko Bellic.

Be aware there's some adult humour involved, Not Safe for Work.

The link to the video and the activity book are the same.

and the Montreal link appears to lead to a dead page.

404 on the montreal page

Every page on Minus World gives a 404 when you try to click through. But I'm not sure I wanted to read another "lol all Canadians are beer-swilling lumberjacks" article anyway, eh?

i would like to see a grand theft auto in another country......

[...] GTA:IV is out tomorrow, which means I’ll be picking it up in a year or so when I eventually cave in and buy a 360. Already, the parodies are piling up, and one in particular caught my eye: GP mentioned that The -Minus World had a piece on Stephen Harper trying to make GTA:Montreal happen. Can’t link through to the main article because comedy apparently demands bad web design that gives 404s on every page, but from the introductory description (Canadians riding golden eagles, which they no doubt wingjacked) it’s probably a trip through the “51st State” mentality, where all of us Stalinist Canuckistanis are beer-swilling lumberjacks with lisps, perpetually trying to dig ourselves out of the snow that falls whenever the sun goes down. Eh? Eh?! Truly, when you have run out of George W. Bush jokes, you come to Canada and avail yourself of the abundant stereotype fields. Never mind that Toronto is further south than St. Paul, Minnesota; if they knew that, they’d just use it as ammunition against Minnesota. [...]

ZenI felt Brutal Legends was a funny & beautiful look at the world of rock from Double Fines point of view. The only parts I wasn't hot for were the RTS bits as it felt forced. Otherwise fantastic.02/12/2012 - 1:34pm
DorthLousPassed 1.5M$. And I'd also say that Brutal Legend is far from being a bad game. I just think it was a few levels under what people expected from the people working on the project.02/11/2012 - 8:25am
TechnogeekBrutal Legend wasn't bad so much as "marketing had no idea how the game actually played", causing it to suffer accordingly.02/10/2012 - 10:38pm

ddrfr33kHas anything Tim Schafer ever made been of crap caliber? I'm struggling to think of one...02/10/2012 - 7:37pm
GuamishI think it is in good hands. Tim did a game for the GDC award show and that was fun for how short it was.02/10/2012 - 12:22pm
Andrew EisenIt'll be tragic if the game ultimately sucks.02/10/2012 - 12:17pm
