Last week we were treated to Jack Thompson's view of Grand Theft Auto IV on the Glenn Beck program. This evening we'll hear what should be quite a different perspective as Drs. Cheryl Olson and Lawrence Kutner, authors of Grand Theft Childhood: The Surprising Truth About Violent Video Games will appear on Beck's show.
(CNN Headline News, 7PM & 9PM).

On a side note, anyone here who's in an AT&T U-Verse area should really get the service. I just set up a recording for the show from my desk at work. =)
Full Disclosure Dept: My wife works for AT&T and I'm a contractor that works on-site there.
They still won't be defending it because they'll be getting cut off every three seconds.
Of course, this news popped up just after I sent a letter to Beck this morning, decrying his previous biased 'Grand Theft Morality' segment.
Hitting a button which signals an airhorn at somebody, is not the same as shooting them in the face with a handgun, or getting into a fist fight. Hell, if I had an airhorn, I'd give the guy in the cube next to me an earful every hour on the hour...doesn't make me a violent person. Just makes me a dick!
;)
Glenn Beck tells them they're evil liberals.
When he first came on the air I found his show quite funny, but once election season kicked in late last year he seems to have become nothing more than a jerk with a swelled head.
I originally planned to only avoid the election based parts of his show mostly because he only wants to talk about Obamas reverand, which is a stupid non-issue now more than ever. Even tonight, the night before the Indiana and North Carolina primaries, the headline of his show is none other than the the Reverand and his effect on the election. If I recall last week when he had JT on he had a 10 minute montage of Rev. Wright too to boot. And yes, I am an Obama supporter if that wasn't obvious enough already, but can't vote as I am a Canadian citizen.
After he had JT on, I vowed to never watch again. However if he is at least reasonable during the interview tonight, I will change my mind. But I will still not watch the election parts though.
P.S. I am sure I am not the first to say this, but I want to see a debate between the autors of GTC and JT. It would be fun, that's for sure.
I did notice that on his book's page on Amazon that theres a gap of dates of reviews a few days after thursday.
Gift.
/facepalm
From his teasers it certainly doesn't look like he is going to be open to anything positive the authors of Grand Theft Childhood have to say...
Its not looking good for fair and balanced news reporting.....
You can't fight fairly against these people. It's best just to ignore them.
Isn't it lame that we live in a world where peaceful protest can get people labled as hate mail campaigners?
And after a recent remark from him I'm not suggest that instead of letters we send him boxes of rotten tomatoes. I could care less. If it makes his life slightly more annoying then I'm going to send him boxes of rotten tomatoes. The tomatoes represent his rotton attitude towards gamers.
When the author actually made a point contradicting Mr. Beck's claims, he just rolled his eyes.
PS: According to Glenn Beck, because us video gamers who are also blogging and discussing this on blogs... well, we're losers. Yeah.
He said again that there was nudity in it.
Also, he was talking about how he's worried that the hookers in GTA will warp a teenaged boys' view of women.
I think that if someone has trouble telling the difference between a real woman and one in a game, that person already has a warped view to start with.
Even though Glenn Beck is a prime example of how any nutjob can get a position in the news industry these days I don't think he would be "America's Next Jack Thompson."
Though if there was such a competition on Fox I bet he would come as a close runner up.
