Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

May 25, 2008

Big Head DC reports that a Barack Obama Mii is a hugely popular download for owners of the Nintendo Wii:

Barack Obama gets around. His Mii, a digital avatar created for the Wii video game console, is currently one of the most popular user-submitted Mii caricatures in all of America. Obama is next to Batman in popularity and stands tall right behind Indiana Jones.

Speeches is listed as Obama’s skill.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

Woops, Looks like someone didnt put BHO for his initials. So, I must say: Lawl, BO.

I have to wonder if there are any Mii versions of Hillary though. It'd probablly be made to look like the devil or something if a gamer made it..Hmm, maybe I should do that.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

You can only put 2 initials for a Mii, so that's the closest you can get.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii
Obama it is. I just hope he remembers the gamers who got him elected.
Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

Just what I want, a Mii of a scumbag politician.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

I really want to vote for this man come November.  Let's hope the Democrats don't screw it up with the nomination.

I wouldn't download a Mii of him, though.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

I don't like him as a canidate, so I'm not downloading him for my Wii.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

 Really?!?!  Wow.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

So what are those things? Sort of like a gamer pic for the 360?

Mii's are avatars. That's the best way to describe them I believe.

@Aliasalpha

No. They are just little digital versions of yourself or others you an make on the Wii. They really don't have a point except for Wii Sports.

@Spencer

All politicians are scumbags.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

Actually, Mii's can be used in other games as well, the most recent I can think of is Mario Kart Wii.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

They make cameos in lots of nintendo games. They're used as avatars for save files in Mario Galaxy, and they show up in "Wario ware:smooth moves" as well. Unfortunately, they only show up in nintendo games, which is kind of a pisser.

The cleverest use of the Barrack Obama Mii I ever saw was in Mario Kart.

In the game you can play as "baby" versions of the nintendo family (Baby mario, baby princess, etc.) someone made "Baby Obama" and raced as him once.

Too cute.

So is............................

so is hitler.

Its really not that big of a deal

Re: So is............................

only a few replies in and someone already invoked godwins law. GG.

Re: So is............................

it wasn't meant to slam him.

i was just making a point.

hillary and bill are popular too.

would it have been better if i said jesus is really popular too?

Re: So is............................

Godwin's law only really doesn't apply here, given the context.

Good try though.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

I must say I'd rather find this mii randomly walking around in the visited mii section than the one I found after a weekend away. Only one came by the whole weekend and who does it happen to be of? Paris Hilton.

My wii has been violated, and it will never be clean again. Even deleting that thing wasn't enough to me.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

To be fair, Mr. T Mii seems to be equally popular.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

I pity the fool that has a Mii T!

They seem like a kind of cool idea. If it was a generic character model thats can be used in most games it'd be fancy although somewhat out of place in resident evil 5... Than again, think of using the paris hilton one & letting her get mauled to death constantly by zombies! Hell if that was possible, I'd probably buy a wii just for it!

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

I wish more games would utilize Mii characters. I have envisioned an epic RPG game where you choose four Mii characters to embark on an epic quest. The quest would have the characters traveling through different dimensions along the way. The environments would range from things like a fantasy world full of magic to high tech space areas with phazer guns and spaceships. The characters would gain new special abilities as they travel through the games so that as the game progresses, a character would have the choice of using attacks like fireballs and ice swords to plasma rifles and strength enhancing robotic gauntlets. Of course each type of enemy would be more or less susceptible to different kinds of attacks. I will come up with other ideas for environments besides fantasy and space another time. My team would consist of me, Batman, Chuck Norris, and Robocop. I know this is not really related to the topic but I just had to tell somebody about this awesome idea.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

Corey, write that down and sell it to a big name game company, you will be rich and i shall have a good game upon my lap.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

Thank you! I wonder if there is actually a game company that would be willing to run with this idea. All I really have is the general idea as I have almost no computer technical skills to make it myself. But it would be super fun to play a game like that.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii
Oh Look!! Another Obama puff piece on gamepolitics. Who woulda thunk it?
Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

You act as though this is a great revelation.  GP has professed quite openly that he considers himself left-of-center (Read: Democrat), and with how critical Hillary Clinton has been of video games, who do you think he leans to?  (I guess some would argue that McCain is actually left-of-center, though)

Plus, a McCain Mii would just be hideous.  In fact, I'll make this when I get home.

Re: Barack Obama is a Popular Mii

Heh. I suppose you're only making that hideos Mii to beat the shit out of it in boxing, or perhaps simply to feel the satisfaction of deleting JC from the (virtual) world.

McCain.exe Battle routine set. Execute!

Slot in battlechip Cannon A!

McCain.exe Deleted!

Megaman.exe obtains battlechip RedPolitic R!

I would pay to see that netbattle!
