Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

October 21, 2008 -

Frenetic money man Jim Cramer named Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick to the "Wall of Shame" on his popular Mad Money program yesterday.

Cramer blasted Zelnick and a pair of CEOs from other companies for failing to accept takeover bids and then seeing their stock values collapse.

As has been widely reported on GamePolitics and other sites, Zelnick rejected a $25.74 acquisistion offer from Electronic Arts earlier this year. EA eventually walked away from the deal. The Grand Theft Auto publisher's stock (TTWO) will open at 13.15 this morning. Among Cramer's trashing of the T2 boss:

[EA's offer was] an offer no sane man can refuse. But Strauss Zelnick, Take-two's chairman did just that...

Welcome to the Wall of Shame, Strauss Zelnick. You managed to take a sure thing, a $25 stock and turn it into a $13 one. That takes talent.

What revenue?

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

Oh man, you got an award from a bunch of Religious Nutjobs and Assholes!  High-Five Jack!

What's next; an award from the local militia?  Maybe a photo-op with the minutemen?  How about a picture in front of the graves of all the dead people who's names you have dragged through the dirt with your reputation in order to fight with anecdotal evidence and lies?

Wow Jack, what a great article.  From a reliable news source, no less!  What's wrong?  Fox News not into you anymore?

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

Since I can't edit this again, I'll just make a second post.

1) Mr Thompson, when is the last time you did real work that generated revenue?  As a lawyer, chances are you're not salaried (actually, you might be salaried because you're a terrible lawyer), so we're in the same working class. However, I manage to generate revenue doing my work, and you appear to have not made any money doing anything except appearing on TV after you chase an ambulance.  Do you need a motiviational speaker?  I have a great one who'd be willing to help you kick off your post-disbarrment lifestyle in style.

2) Once again, you received an award from a bunch of Religious Kooks for censoring people.  A greater group of hypocrites you'll be hard pressed to find.  Let me tell you about freedom.  In a few hours, I'm going to the gunshop to pick up another box of .45ACPs.  Will I get Magtech, Remington, Speer, or will I just decide to load my own?  WHO KNOWS?  But I know that it is my choice, a freely made choice.  I don't have to listen to you say 'magtech was used in more murders' or 'remington is made in mexico by heathens', and no one else does either.  Last night I picked up Fable 2.  Next week I'll pick up Fallout 3.  If I want my son to play these games, he can play those games, and you have no right to tell me what I can and cannot buy for my child. That, sir, is CENSORSHIP.  You're not doing a damn thing for freedom, you're just trying to censor mine, and you should be ashamed of yourself like anyone who would try and circumvent the constitution should be ashamed of themselves (looking at you Brady Campaign)

Lets see how many times something has to be repeated before JTS frontal lobes, fried from the stress of  disbarrment and failing at everything he attempts, grasp the simple concept of the comments policy.

Since this study began, The total number of times JT's lobes have been bashed with the same simple information regarding the comments policy and spamming irrelavent documents not been  understood.. now stands at - 5

Mr. Thompson, the comments section of this site is NOT a place for you or anyone to copy their letters and filings. Such posting is against the policy that you signed up for. (Twice now, apparantly)

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

John, you do realize that the above letter is why you're being disbarred right? Not specifically of course but the lies contained in it. The same lies you repeat time and time again. The slander, the complete lack of factual basis as found by the courts already. All you're doing is tilting at windmills my friend. You're already in Florida, isn't it time to retire with whatever dignity you have remaining? I would add Carl to the list of folks that are going to be waiting in line to take their pound of flesh from you when this is all over. Might want to start fattening yourself up now so there's something left of you when it's all said and done.

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

Call it? He has it parked on the curb near his house, he uses it for his "chasing" practice.

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

Not many people know less about stock than Cramer. He's a panicer, a follower, and makes shit up. Who remembers all the money he lost people in telling them Bear Sterns was doing fine, and wasn't in any trouble at all? Who remembers him going on TV a few weeks ago to say "Take all your money that you'll need for the next 5 years out of the stock market"? Who remembers the fact that, HE'S A LAUGHING STOCK to any real investor?

TTWO is doing about 5% better than the market on average. Yes, it is a bit lower than the inflated price during the takeover attempt, however, just like all the money in the stock market, it's not real. The point that needs to be looked at is the fact that TTWO is trading at about -30% for the fiscal year to date. Yet the Nasdaq is trading a -35% for the year, and the Dow is aboust -31%. To me... that seems like a company that's doing BETTER than average. Definitely not worthy of wall of shame. Perhaps Cramer forgot about all the bank execs that would be MUCH better suited to hanging their heads in shame.

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

Cramer knows enough about stock to know that $27 minus $13 is $14.  Can you grasp THAT, Einstein?

I guess not.  Hey, how's your cable show going?  Jack Thompson, Pain in Your Rear and Glad to Be

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

1) Mr. Thompson, you don't HAVE a cable show.
2) A 'Pain in the Rear' is something an attorney is not supposed to be. If you're so dead-set on staying as one, you should know this.

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

You know what I do know? That $60 minus $29 is $31. Can you grasp THAT, Einstein? Sorry, but just because you lose money doesn't mean that you should submit to someone that's been losing MORE money. Oh, but wait... EA doesn't fall into your random category of "devil incarnate", so of course you'd rather bash T2 some more.

Perhaps you should learn a bit more about Wall St before siding with a lunatic. Oh wait, I guess insanity enjoys company.

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

You should use more lubricant.

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

Oh yeah, almost forgot that EA is trading at a constant -48% on the fiscal year. Oops... they're doing significantly worse than average.

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

This guy is a dumbass.  TTwo's stock has fallen less percentage wise than EA has over the past 3 months.  Yesterday was the first day EA has done better than TTwo for a while. Those who have invested in T2 have seen less loss in their money than EA stock holders, and it is looking like EA's stock is not going to get back up to the 60's any time soon if ever again.

Now if they did accept the buy out EA's stock would have fell a lot less, but in the long run, going with EA would have been a stupid choice for him and his stock holders.[IMO]  EA's stock is only $31 per share right now, which is only $5 shy of what their offer was.  Though the offer inflated T2's stock price, they were still only worth $17 [max I would say 16 to be honest, but I will give mad money the benefit of the doubt], which means that they have only fell $4 (-23.5%), while EA has fell from $48 to $31 (-35%).

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

Hi, Jack Thompson here.  Your favorite.

I noted well over a year ago, in May 2007, at this very site that Zelnick would be a disaster as Take-Two's Chairman, and guess what, I was right.

I sold my stock when it was at $26.  Glad I did.  Now I have better suits than Strauss' Target threads.

Seriously, folks, when I met with this clown in New York City on May 15, 2007, I could tell he was roughly half as bright as he thought he was.

What he's going to get in an Obama Administration is a video game law that criminalizes the sale of Mature games to kids, and the entire industry can thank GTA for that development.

Another development is a shareholder revolt against this Self-Proclaimed genius.

Jack Thompson

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

Good to hear that you sold the stock when you did Jack. With that out of the way, you now have some money to pay the fine you owe the Florida Bar for your misconduct, and you are no longer allowed at board meetings since you no longer own a share of the company. Two Jacks with one stone.

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

Say what you will about the man's litigation skills, but he's got the chops for financial planning.

Got any tips you can share with me, Mr. Thompson?  A shrewd mind like yours could probably make an AO-rated killing on the futures index in this uncertain economic climate.

But on the off chance it is, why don't you swing by sometime? I figure with all the free time you'll be enjoying you might wanna come up and play some Halo.

Re: Mad Money's Cramer Adds Take-Two's Zelnick to Wall of Shame

from dictionary.com:

Troll, noun
An individual who chronically trolls; regularly posts specious arguments, flames or personal attacks to a newsgroup, discussion list, or in email for no other purpose than to annoy someone or disrupt a discussion. Trolls are recognizable by the fact that the have no real interest in learning about the topic at hand - they simply want to utter flame bait. Like the ugly creatures they are named after, they exhibit no redeeming characteristics, and as such, they are recognized as a lower form of life on the net, as in, "Oh, ignore him, he's just a troll."

I see nothing about being anonymous here. Sorry Jack, the term "anonymous troll" is not a redundancy.

I don't remember the name on your birth certificate containing the words "Freedom Award Recipient"
