CTV reports that the popular America's Most Wanted program may air a feature detailing the case of missing gamer Brandon Crisp. The popular show currently has a small report about Brandon on its website, but a reader would need to search to find the listing.
According to CTV, America's Most Wanted is more likely to cover the case if police believe that Brandon has entered the United States. Along that line, UPI reports the following comment by police spokesman Sgt. Dave Goodbrand:
We don't know where he is, so there is that potential that he could have gone south of the border. That's a scenario we have to consider, whether he went across on his own will or against his will.
Interestingly, Goodbrand said that foul play is not suspected.

UPDATE: Even though police called off their ground search on Monday, according to CityNews they now say that they will search one more time on Friday and conduct a day-long canvass on Saturday.

I have a lot of respect for John Walsh. When his son went missing and was found dead, he dropped everything, quit his job, and started America's Most Wanted. He is the sterling example of a man who had a lifechanging event and has worked hard to make the world a better place because of it. Last time I watched, they had caught 1028 people thanks to AMW, and all I can say is thank you John Walsh.

And it wasn't but around five years ago that they has approximately 600 people captured. That just goes to show you the effectiveness of that show. Granted, sometimes John can let his emotions get the best of him, but to be honest I don't blame him one bit. He's not crazy, and doing the right thing for others. That's a rare combination today :p

I would first like to say I feel terrible for this family. I hope they find the kid.
However, gamers must not be this bad if we can all join together in a crisis to do this much searching for a Gamer kid. I have not seen a search effort like this for a non-gamer.

There's less successful immigration into the US from Canada, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's less protection.
On a related note to immigration, illegal immigration from Mexico to the US increased dramatically after NAFTA was in full swing... And Republican policies don't make the situation better.

Considering the last time my friends crossed the US border in Ontario they had to hand over a birth certificate for the baby...
NAFTA made the US a good place to find work. It didn't open up the doors to illegal immigration, it just made jumping the border more worthwhile.

Not really that likely. A kidnapper would have to have planned this in advance, but the timing was determined by Brandon's parents. More likely he headed out hoping to hitch-hike to a friend's house, one of his online contacts.
Barrie is near the #11 highway (a major route), which could allow him to hitch-hike to either end of the continent...

Considering that all the 9/11 terrorists were people who immigrated directly to the US from places like Saudi Arabia...

Some of his online contacts are reportedly in the US, so police aren't discounting the theory that he crossed the border. Seems unlikely to me though, considering which direction he was headed when they found his bike.
One way to discount it though, would be to find out if he had his ID on him. He couldn't hitchike across without some form of ID, not if Ontario/US border guards are as strict as I've heard.

Generally AMW is pretty good with story updates. I've been trying to get a bit more info on this story without any luck. I'd appreciate if anyone has an update to post a comment here. God bless.
