This one's a little strange, but it seems that a former associate of Osama bin Laden would rather stay in a Canadian prison than live under house arrest restrictions which include the removal of his family's Nintendo Wii console.
As reported by the Globe and Mail, Mohamed Zeki Mahjoub (left), an Egyptian, asked a Canadian federal judge to send him back to the Ottawa jail referred to as Guantanamo North.
This is a man who once worked for Osama bin Laden's agricultural company, managing 4,000 employees and one million acres of land in Sudan. Guilt by association? Well, yes. That company was named in the United States indictment against Mr. bin Laden as a financial support for al-Qaeda...
[After 6.5 years in jail] bail came with a set of conditions. He was essentially housebound... He couldn't use the Internet (hence the confiscation of the Wii, which had an Internet connection). His mail was photocopied by the state.

Maybe the were worried that he would leach off a neighbor's wifi?
Re: His Wii Confiscated, Terror Suspect Asks To Go Back to Jail
I don't get it. They can't just stop his Internet service?

Now time for a funny Deconstruction of this statement
[After 6.5 years in jail] bail came with a set of conditions.(PHX: he was released on house arrest, just put the moron in Jail) He was essentially housebound...(PHX: That's a bad thing) He couldn't use the Internet (hence the confiscation of the Wii, which had an Internet connection).(PHX: Souped up Epic Fail) His mail was photocopied by the state.(PHX: I hope they didn't steal anything that is his)
Watching JT on GP is just like watching an episode of Jerry springer only as funny as the fights
America has just became its own version of the Jerry Springer Show after a bizarre moment in Florida involving a carnival worker.

As a provision of his probation, why not just say "no internet conenction"?
You dont need to remove his computer, wii, etc etc, because they can USE the internet, just remove the internet! if he violates that, then he goes back to jail.
I can understand his willingness to go back to jail. It probably has nothing to do with the wii. He doesn't want to force his family to have to abide by those kinds of restrictions. I would probably do the same, depending on the length i had left to serve.
Re: His Wii Confiscated, Terror Suspect Asks To Go Back to ...
I'm working on a political cartoon:
bin Laden is preaching to his troops.
"Do not fear death, for when you reach paradise, you will be granted 72 virgins!" Silence. Then one guy raises his hand.
"But will we get a Wii?"
Re: His Wii Confiscated, Terror Suspect Asks To Go Back to Jail
"He couldn't use the Internet (hence the confiscation of the Wii, which had an Internet connection"
Umm, surely i'm not missing something obvious. But surely it's better to remove internet connection devices than devices that can connect to the internet?
ie. make sure there are no unsecured wifi connections in range of his house = Wii has no internet connection
