BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack Thompson's Appeal

April 20, 2009 -

Without comment, the U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear Jack Thompson's appeal of his lifetime disbarment.

The justices considered Thompson's argument as well as dozens of other cases during their private conference on Friday. The Court's rejection of Thompson's appeal can be found in today's list of orders. Mention of Thompson's case is limited to a single line under a long list of cases for which the Court declined to grant Certiorari.

The Supreme Court's decision almost certainly ends Thompson's fight to have his permanent disbarment overturned. As GamePolitics reported, the anti-game activist was disbarred for life by the Florida Supreme Court in September of 2008 for 27 counts of professional misconduct.

We have contacted Thompson for comment but have not yet received a response.

UPDATE: Thompson comments:

No surprise...

In response to [GamePolitics'] speculation that "the... decision almost certainly ends Thompson's fight to have his permanent disbarment overturned," - Not at all. I have four more options, all better than this one.  This was the longest of shots.  All four of the others are much, much shorter shots.  Stay tuned.  As Winston Churchill implored:  "Never give in.  Never, never, never, never, never."

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

If he had not gone off at the mouth he probably could have managed Utah since he could paint his disbarment as a liberal state thing (and thus run to the safe bosum of a concervative haven) but now he has likly annoyed enough people in Utah that they will not stick their neck out for him.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

Yeah, I can't see how any other state Bar would ever want to deal with him. He brought a bad name to Florida already, no one else will want that, especially with how much state money Thompson has wasted, in states he doesn't even live in.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

He's almost certainly going to appeal to... whatever's higher up than the supreme court.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

He's probably already appealed to God, but then I don't think God considers the Laws of Man to be his jurisdiction.    Even if he does,  I haven't seen him change a single judge's mind yet for Thompson.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

If God is there he is likely shaking his head going "I've been silent all this time and he still can't take a hint?"

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

Angel1: "My lord, we have another prayer from a 'Jack Thompson'"

God: "I told you to block those... atleast until it sounds like some of kind of confession or apology"

Angel2: "Escuse me my lord, but the holy fax machine just broke"

God: *heavy sigh*

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

Shadow: Boss, did I just hear the fax machine break? Did he seriously do that?

*silence, for no sound is needed*

Shadow: I see. Got it, Boss. I'll go get the bottle of holy water.

*goes off to fetch holy water with which to sanctify the holy fax machine's replacement*

More like my RPG counterpart, I know, but that don't matter.

The Justice League?

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

No.  The Justices League.

He'll need Harvey Birdman, attorney at law.

"We have contacted Thompson for comment but have not yet received a response."

If his head is even intact after this.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

Ya gotta hand it to him, Jackie boy is one helluvan optimist.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack ...

My guess is now he will start contacting politicians to try to get them to overturn his 'injustice'.   Question is, will he use the keyword 'activist judges'....

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack ...

As a Conservative, he probably will use that term.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack ...

I think he might have used that term at one point.

Geaux Saints, Geaux Tigers, Geaux Hornets, Jack Thompson can geaux chase a chupacabra.

Geaux Saints, Geaux Tigers, Geaux Pelicans. Solidarity for the Saints = No retreat, no surrender. 2013 = Saints' revenge on the NFL. Even through the darkest days, this fire burns always.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

Nah first he will say they are incapable of understanding his legal case in simple words and submit a picture book filing.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

We have contacted Thompson for comment but have not yet heard back.

This is like poking the bear with a stick, except instead of getting mauled, it'll just roar and bitch in your face while you laugh maniaclly.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

More like poking a beehive with a stick

Watching JT on GP is just like watching an episode of Jerry springer only as funny as the fights

America has just became its own version of the Jerry Springer Show after a bizarre moment in Florida involving a carnival worker.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack ...

Actually, an image of someone getting smeared into the ground would be a much better analogy for Mr. Thompson's career.

Like this:

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

Hah, and no one is surprised, but everyone is amused greatly.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack ...

Anyone seen the episode of Robot Chicken with the Micro Machine man?  That's what JT's comments will be.  Haaha.

Seriously though, way to go SCOTUS.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack ...

Jack Thompson . . . failing at eveything he tries since 1975.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack ...

He was actually born in 1951 ;)

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

So much win.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

Jack, I got 1 word for you: PWNED! But this ain't gonna stop his rants. Like the kid at the arcade out of quarters, refusing to believe the game is over, but still trying to play.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

Would have loved to see comments

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

*waits for JT to accuse them of being in on the conspiracy*

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

Damn, someone beat me to the punch in the "Supreme Court is part of the Conspiracy" thing.  But yeah, I can totally see it happening.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

Can't wait to see this.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

It's gonna happen. Just you wait and see.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

Sadly, pitifully, disgracefully...  Yes, he will definitely say something eventually that will make him look even more like a fool.  I would feel bad for him, but he just needs psychological help.  I think we need to take him, Bush, Palin, and other radical religious nut jobs (more than a few republicans and democrats), and put them on a tiny island to form their own super religious country.

I fear Alaska isn't isolated enough for Palin.  We need a place where she has even less effect.  There are some crazy videos of her talking about how God personally did this and that for her to raise funds for her bridge to no where, and other projects of wasteful spending.  Of course, I don't think Obama's train idea is that great either...  Lets stick to educating our youth, and advancing our technology.  Just two of the things we did initially to become a super power.

All in all, we need Thompson to disappear, he is wasting too much tax money with his messes, and is doing nothing for us.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack

Don't be silly, he's not going to accuse anyone.

*SNIP* EZK: Please don't

Oh, the irony.

Re: BREAKING - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Jack ...

No surprise, but still awesome to hear.

Michael ChandraSo really the guy's own words strike me as "wah! How dare you disagree with me!" behaviour, which is the sort of childish attitude I am unfortunately not surprised by.10/20/2014 - 2:17pm
