In a bit of political commentary, George W. Bush - looking very much like a chimp - has turned up on a fanciful cartridge for Nintendo's Famicon
Kotaku notes that the former President's cartridge is one of 58 contained in retro game shop Meteor's 2009 Famicase exhibit.

Re: Dubya Immortalized on the Famicom
Funny enough on the famicase site the entry has a short blurb that says "Save NYC!" so I guess its not supposed to be too terribly negative huh?*shrug*

And if they ever portray Obama on a game cartridge as a monkey, it'll be declared 'The Most Racist Game Cartridge Ever'. ;)
Re: Dubya Immortalized on the Famicom
Not to be confused with Resident Evil 5, the Most Racist Game Disc ever?

Famicon? I thought it was Famicom. Is it correct either way? The Wiki article seems to anticipate both spellings but doesn't clarify if "Famicon" is incorrect or merely an alternate spelling.
Not that it really matters. Just curious.

Re: Dubya Immortalized on the Famicom
Ya i was thinking the same thing. I was also thinking that the Famicom was basically a NES and that cart looks more like a Super NES cart, hence shouldn't that be a Super Famicom game??.

Re: Dubya Immortalized on the Famicom
No, that is what the Famicom carts looked like. They changed the shape for NES carts to help prevent importing of Japanese only games.

Re: Dubya Immortalized on the Famicom
I remember them adding two grooves to the backs of all the Super NES cartridges that aligned with two pieces of plastic inside the SNES itself...the Super Famicom games had no such grooves and thus didn't fit...unless you took a screwdriver and hammer to your SNES and knocked out the offending plastic. Then the games work just fine.
Did they do the same thing with the 8-bit systems?

Hey, maybe we should call this game Donkey Bush Jr,
And maybe an Italian Carpinter will try to climb both of the Twin Towers to save his girlfriend from Donkey Bush Jr.
