VP Was Gonna Buy Wii For Prez, But He's Already Got One, You See

Clearly, Vice-President Joe Biden does not read GamePolitics.

If he did, he would have already known that President & Mrs. Obama got their daughters Malia and Sasha a Holy Grail Wii for Christmas.

From the Los Angeles Times:

One White House official recalls the vice president fretting over what to get Obama for his 48th birthday earlier this month. Biden wanted to go with a Nintendo Wii. Told that Obama's daughters already have one, a disappointed Biden said, "You're kidding." Instead, he went with a golf range-finder to help the president judge distances to the hole.

In that scene King Arthur shows up at the castle asking about the Holy Grail and the French, who have been mocking him mercilessly, say they already have one. It was a great reference

The castle served no purpose other then comic relief.  If the Wii is the Grail (in context) then the Frenchman were one of the obsticles they needed to overcome (that and the vorpal bunny but I digress) on the journey. 

Honestly I was half surprised to find that Biden knew was the Wii was. 

Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time.

I dont get the holy grail joke. i get the reference (monty python) but i dont get the joke in this context.

"he's already got one", a common line used on door-to-door salesmen, was used by the frenchmen to drive King Arthur away from the castle when he mentioned he was questing for the grail.

Probably a reference to how ridiculously difficult it was to get the Wii for such a long time and for how its still seen as this "must get" gift by people of Biden's generation.
