Looks like the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) will have to update its list of U.S. colleges and universities offering videogame courses and degrees, as Rasmussen College is about to become the latest institute of higher learning to offer game-related curriculums.
This October will see Rasmussen offer Bachelor’s degree programs in Game & Simulation Programming and Digital Design & Animation at 14 campuses in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Florida, as well as online.
The college’s National Director of Career Development Tamryn Hennessy, speaking about the Digital Design & Animation degree, stated, “Our Bachelor’s program was specifically designed for students interested in employment within the industry and offers resources that will allow them to enter the job search process with a professional digital design portfolio, putting them a step ahead of the competition.”
As part of this expansion, which operates under its School of Technology and Design, Rasmussen is also opening an 11,000 square foot Technology and Design center facility at its Brooklyn Park, Minnesota location.
