A Real Case of Home Alone

December 15, 2010 -

In Live Oak, California (near Fresno) a 12-year-old was at home alone playing video games when two men broke into the house, tied him up with extension cords, and robbed the place. The 12 year-old boy was home alone because his parents were out Christmas shopping. It sounds like the film "Home Alone," but this true story was anything but fun or light-hearted. It was terrifying.

According to police and press accounts, the two men gained entry through an unlocked door at the rear of the home and began searching it for things to steal. The victim heard the suspects walking around the kitchen and investigated, surprising them. At this point they grabbed the boy, tied him up and tossed him into "one of the rooms" in the house. Police say that, after the suspects drove away in a red car, the boy managed to break free and go to a nearby neighbor’s house to call police.

The thieves managed to steal the boy’s video games and 12 jars of medicinal marijuana. They are described by police as "possibly Hispanic or Asian men in their 20s" and are still at large.

Somehow I believe the thieves will not be the only ones with problems with the law.

Re: A Real Case of Home Alone

Far as I heard it is, they just failed to outright legalize it entirely.

Re: A Real Case of Home Alone

Something that is kinda sad actually. I once went to research why Cannabis Sativa is prohibited, and I found out that:

The medics were against the prohibition, and got very upset that the government pushed it as "Marijuana prohibition" that was a slang, and few medics knew that Marijuana and Cannabis Sativa was the same thing, and thus supported the bill (the government was pushing a lot of propagana on the ill effects of Marijuana) until they found out, but when they found out it was too late, they got upset, and screamed, and sued, and everything, but it did not worked, they really got annoyed that the government prohibited one of the most useful medicinal substances ever, by lying about the ill effects.

But this still don't solved me question, WHY the government did that?

Later I found out that cannabis (including another species that is crap as drug because it does not has any effect) is also useful as material, you can make some high quality paper, ropes, and other stuff with it, at that time some chemical companies were trying to sell similar synthethic materials, that were more expensive and in poorer quality, thus totally failing to sell... Then "suddenly" the government decided to prohibit "Marijuana" but the law actually prohibited all plants of the genre cannabis (including the one that was bad as drug, but was very popular as material to manufacture fibers).

After that several other countries tagged along (this I don't discovered why yet).

Currently in my country the army is fighting the population because of that... I think it is not worth it, millions are dieing just to supposely keep a few people healthy? Seriously? Using claims that medics actually say that is bullshit? I think this is one of the worst examples of what happen when government forgot why they did something and follow blindly the laws and forget the justice, and also one of the worst examples of what happen when a government make laws because of lobby, and not because of the people.

Andrew EisenMichael Chandra - Unless I overlooked it, we haven't seen how the directive to not talk about whatever he wasn't supposed to talk about was phrased so it’s hard to say if it could have been misconstrued as a suggestion or not.10/20/2014 - 12:35pm
Andrew EisenHey, the second to last link is the relevant one! He actually did say "let them suffer." Although, he didn't say it to the other person he was bickering with.10/20/2014 - 12:29pm
