The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences is now accepting submissions for two scholarships that support students who are seeking a vocation related to game development or business.
The AIAS Randy Pausch scholarship awards $2,500 to two students pursuing careers in art, animation, programming, engineering, game direction, game design, sound design, or music composition. The fund was established in honor of late Carnegie Mellon University professor and co-founder of the school's entertainment technology center. The Mark Beaumont scholarship offers two scholarships of $2,500 to students specializing in executive leadership, law, marketing, public relations, or business development. The scholarship was established to honor former COO of Capcom North America and Europe, who passed away earlier this year.
To qualify for the scholarships, students are required to maintain a 3.3 GPA, be a full-time student, and attend an accredited college or university during the 2011-2012 school year. The AIAS is accepting submissions until June 30, 2011. for more information, check out the AIAS web site.

Re: AIAS Scholarship Submissions Now Being Accepted
Awesome! I am really happy to see programs like this. Video games aren't just some simple minded games. Video game production is a multi-billion dollar industry, and it's great to see companies trying to help out students pursue their dream.

What a joke! Giving someone $2500 for game dev school (which is more expensive than a law degree) is like giving someone a nickel to buy their lunch. Why bother when it won't even help?

Re: AIAS Scholarship Submissions Now Being Accepted
As the old adage goes, "Every little bit helps". Even if it is a nickel, that's still A) A nickel you got for free, and B) A nickel you didn't have before.
Personally, if someone offered me $2,500, I wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth and just take it.
