ESCoNS Set for September 19 - 20

September 7, 2011

Organizers of the first annual Entertainment Software and Cognitive Neurotherapeutics Society (ESCoNS) Meeting announced that it will take place September 19 -20, 2011 at the UCSF Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco, California. The two-day event brings together medical professionals and researchers whose work focuses on improving "neural system functioning through computerized training" using simulations and video games.

The event will feature a number of talks and panels on ways in which this scientific field of study informs treatment development for "impaired neural systems in neurological and neuropsychiatric illness" and investigates ways in which cognitive training approaches can make use of advances in entertainment software as therapeutic tools.

The event also brings together scientists and entertainment software industry professionals to discuss innovative collaborations and new funding methods to support the development of this emerging field.

For a detailed schedule of talks and panels, check out www.escons.org.

ImautobotSony's PS4 motto should be "We play games." Microsoft's should be "We play games, when we're not rewinding your tapes."05/23/2013 - 3:11pm

E. Zachary KnightThat is absolutely nuts there. As bad an experience XBox Indie Games was, the problems weren't with the self published side of things. Forcing a publisher onto independent studios is not going to help.05/22/2013 - 10:43am
