The Gaikai-Powered YouTube FIFA 12 Demo

A Gaikai-powered FIFA 12 demo is now available on YouTube, showing what the service is capable of doing by combining existing technology with streaming, cloud-based technology. Only available in the US for now, the news about the demo’s release was tweeted by Gaikai CEO David Perry earlier today.

By clicking the demo banner on the game's YouTube page, users launch a new window in which the game runs. The demo uses standard mouse and keyboard controls and offers support for controllers. This is a special milestone for Gaikai because it marks the first time a full 3D game has been available on YouTube. This could have profound consequences for developers who want to get their games out to very wide audience quickly.
