Infinity Ward, the developers of Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, announced via Twitter that it has banned more than 1,600 players online for cheating. Infinity Ward Creative Strategist, Robert Bowling explained via Twitter what was going on.
"Any attempt to cheat, hack, or glitch in #MW3 will not be tolerated. 1600+ bans issued. Updates in works."
He went on to answer questions from followers about how to report cheaters from within the game:
"There's a button in game after a match," he said. "Click on them in the lobby and it gives option to View Gamercard + Report Player. Stats are always recorded, we can verify and detect cheating without video proof."
Bowling went on to say that there are different bans being applied to players based on the severity of their online, in-game actions.
"Every ban unique to the level of douchiness of the offense," he said. "The greater the douche the greater the length. PermaDouche possible."

Honestly, why have that got to use the language of a 12 year old? "Permadouche" and "douchiness" are just examples of poor language used to try and make them look like they're aligned with the users. I would prefer it if they were a bit more professional, but I suppose most of the kids playing the game don't mind that level of stupidity.
