Game Industry Raises $132,000 for Movember

December 1, 2011

The game industry's involvement in the mustachioed charity event, Movember, managed to raise $132,000. That money was raised by 1082 individuals spread across 42 teams.

Team EA managed to raise $17,862 for the charity followed by Ubisoft Montreal with $17,053, Team Nintendo with $10,451, Dynamic Stashes (Crystal Dynamics) at $9731, and Ubisoft Toronto who raised $6857. Participants had to start November 1st clean-shaven and grow facial hair for the entire month. Their expert moustachery helped raise awareness for a good cause along with lots of cash. The top ten gaming teams are:

1: TEAM EA - $17,987

3: Nintendo - $10,481

The funds raised in the US go to supporting prostate cancer treatment and other cancers that affect men. They go to programs run directly by Movember and its men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG, the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
