Eurogamer Gets Gaikai Streaming

Eurogamer has launched game streaming on its site today, as part of a new relationship with video game streaming service Gaikai. Eurogamer and Gaikai have partnered to provide free streaming game content, with such AAA titles as Crysis 2, Magicka, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and FIFA 12 available right now. More titles will be added to the list in "the near future."

"Gaikai's goal is to put the best games in the world at the fingertips of the best gamers in the world," says David Perry, Gaikai CEO. "Eurogamer has an incredibly passionate audience and we expect they will make great use of our instant gaming technology."

"Being able to stream AAA games through a browser would have been unimaginable just a few years ago and we're thrilled to be able to offer this to our readers," said Eurogamer operations director Tom Bramwell.

The service will eventually be extended to Eurogamer's sites in various countries including Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, The Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, and the Czech Republic. Gaikai hopes to have 100 million users by 2012. With partnerships like this, I suppose that goal is not an impossibility.
