The AbleGamers Foundation Gives Grants to Three Disabled Veterans

Non-profit gamer charity The Ablegamers Foundation has awarded the Disabled Veteran Grant 2011 to three disabled veterans - just in time for the holidays. The group awarded two Xbox 360 gaming systems complete with a one-year subscription to Xbox Live Gold, and one completely customized Xbox controller from Evil Controllers to the recipients of its annual event.

“Applicants submit requests for their most desired gaming related items that improve their lives or grant them increased accessibility,” says AbleGamers Editor-In-Chief Steve Spohn. “Each year The AbleGamers Foundation awards gaming equipment to as many disabled veterans as donations allow for the current year. With the economy in rough shape, donations were down significantly in 2011, but we wanted to make sure to give some holiday cheer to as many disabled veterans as possible.”

“We are incredibly honored to be able to give something back to the brave men and women who have sacrificed their health to protect the freedoms of this great country,” said Mark Barlet, President and Co-Founder of the Ablegamers Foundation. “As a disabled veteran myself, I understand firsthand the importance of maintaining the ability to enjoy videogames with our friends and family, especially during the holiday season. The support of our donors and Evil Controllers has been tremendous, and the disabled community has been very supportive of our desire to give the gift of gaming to those who served and paid a price for freedom.”

Goth_Skunkyou enjoy the benefits of working in a union environment. If working in a union is against your religious beliefs or just something you wholeheartedly object to, dues will still be deducted from your pay, but you can instruct that they be directed towards07/07/2015 - 2:33pm
