Game streaming company Gaikai has managed to secure several high profile deals with online retailers that should give the company the exposure it needs to compete with the likes of OnLive. Those deals include BestBuy.com, YouTube, Capcom, and Ubisoft (UbiShop), according to VentureBeat.
The company also recently hired Mark Anderson, former COO of Fox Mobile and chief financial officer of Sony Digital Pictures, as its new COO. The deals make sense because Gaikai's technology allows partners to stream game content directly to their web sites simply by adding an embed code similar to what you would do with a YouTube video. Gaikai already announced deals it had signed with Walmart.com’s Game Center, Eurogamer, and Electronic Arts (on its Origin site).
Gaikai founder David Perry has said that the company’s goal for 2012 is to get new game demos in front of 100 million "eye balls" by the end of 2012.
I guess they are on their way.
