Blizzard, Epic and Insomniac Give Survival Talk at D.I.C.E.

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) announced more speakers taking part in the 2012 D.I.C.E. Summit, which will kick off February 8 at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas and run until February 10. The latest speaker list reveals a special panel starring members from Epic, Insomniac and Blizzard. Mike Capps of Epic Games, Ted Price of Insomniac Games, and Frank Pearce of Blizzard will take part in a session to discuss "what it takes to survive for 20+ years in the game industry while maintaining growth and original content." 

No doubt this is a subject that many individuals and companies in the interactive entertainment industry will want to learn more about. The panel "Staying Around, Playing Around," will take place on February 9 at 4:15 PM. The trio will talk about creative, administrative, and interpersonal collaboration.

The AIAS also announced that Alex Lieu, Chief Creative Officer at 42 Entertainment will be the main attraction of "Check Raise 360." Lieu, who was the creative director and lead designer for 42 Entertainment’s Year Zero (Nine Inch Nails), Flynn Lives (Tron), and Why So Serious? (The Dark Knight), will "explain his unique approach to entertainment and how we can harness the elements converging upon the multi-platform world we live in today."

Andrew EisenLocalizing for Europe is actually harder. Or at least, more work because typically, you do more languages. I don't think its a matter of difficulty but that Nintendo, for whatever reason, has no faith in NA gamers to actually buy these games.02/22/2012 - 1:54pm
