Gaikai Streaming Lord of the Rings Online, Dungeons & Dragons Online

March 8, 2012 -

Cloud-based streaming service Gaikai is doing something that no company has ever done: streaming a major MMO. The company, along with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced a partnership that will see The Lord of The Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online streamed to players across North America directly from each game's own website.

This will be the first time that a game that is not specifically web-based has been streamed straight to players without the need for any download or installation. Gamers can try The Lord of the Rings Online now via a simple one-step registration process at lotro.com. Dungeons & Dragons Online will follow soon. Both games are developed by WBIE subsidiary Turbine.
