Wizard101 Creators to Keynote Digital Kids Conference

Wizard101 creators Todd Coleman and Josef Hall of KingsIsle Entertainment will be the keynote speakers at the sixth annual Digital Kids Conference, a two-day event that purports to provide companies with "the critical information they need to reach digital kids and connected youth through online and mobile technologies." Speakers from the NFL, Spin Master, Cartoon Network, Ubisoft, SOE, Cookie Jar, and many others will also deliver talks April 25-26, 2012 in Los Angeles.

Josef Hall is vice president of development at KingsIsle Entertainment and Todd Coleman is VP and Creative Director. Prior to joining KingsIsle, the duo co-founded Wolfpack Studios where they created and launched their first hardcore MMO title, Shadowbane, in 2003. KingsIsle's Wizard101 is a popular destination for youngsters, with over 25 million players in the U.S.. The game's web site, Wizard101.com, receives an estimated 13 million monthly visitors. 

Wizard101 launched in 2008 and has become increasingly popular with children 8 - 12 years of age and adults. Wizard101 currently operates in eight European countries including the U.K., Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Italy, Greece, and Turkey. The company plans to make a move into China later this year as well.

According to a recent Trinity University survey of more than 30,000 Wizard101 players, 55 percent said the game helped them with a number of important real-world skills including reading, math, and time and financial management skills. One out of every five respondents also indicated that they regularly play the game with their parents or grandparents.
