Robber Steals Console from Boy's Bedroom While He Sleeps

July 9, 2012 -

File this one under extra creepy - we're talking almost as creepy as anything involving "Jerry Sandusky and young boys creepy." According to a Michigan Live report, a Flint, Michigan grandfather discovered that someone had broken into his grandson's bedroom at 1:00 AM on July 3 to steal his video game console while the boy was asleep. The report does not divulge the boy's age.

The grandfather said that he was awakened by a loud noise coming from his grandson's bedroom at around 1:00 AM. Concerned, he yelled out for him to make sure he was okay. At first he thought his grandson was awake and had dropped something. When he went to his room he found that someone had broken in through a window in the room and had taken an Xbox 360 with Kinect, along with some games. Police valued all the stuff stolen at $1,340.

Police have no witnesses to the crime and have yet to make an arrest.

No doubt the family is just thankful that no one was hurt and that some other kind of miscreant who was more prone to violence or other despicable behavior hadn't broken in and done harm to them.

Re: Robber Steals Console from Boy's Bedroom While He Sleeps

Um...  How does this even approach "Sandusky creepy"?  Nothing was done to the boy, because the burglar (Not robber.  Robbery involves violence or the threat of violence.  The boy wasn't even woken.) was not interested in him, only in what he could steal.  Much like every other burglar.  Why try to spin this story off into that territory when none of the facts warrant it, other than the likely coincidental fact that the boy's room is the one he broke into?  Are we to assume a sexual motive to every crime now?

Thank you? What the... are people assuming... I mean, it's definitively bad, as in not good, but it's so low on the bad-o-meter that we could end up finding out that that person sold those things to get money for food... There's just... nothing warranting that article's tone or the first poster's reaction...

A 360, Kinect, and games totaling up to $1340?  That's a lot of games.

Re: Robber Steals Console from Boy's Bedroom While He Sleeps

Giving that many games run 60 dollars new, 20 bucks if it's a special edition, it may not be THAT many, and the price of a 360, and we don't know weather or not the Kinect came with the 360 or not.

I really hope they catch that creep. No telling what else he might have done.
