Sony Computer Entertainment has let a number of its employees in its marketing department go after doing a little shuffling of the personal deck, according to a Games Industry International report. After consolidating all of its public relations operations within the company, Sony decided that all future PR work would be handled by its Foster City headquarters.
A Sony spokesperson confirmed reorganization to GamesIndustry International today. The Sony representative told the publication that "all SCEA public relations efforts will now be run solely out of Foster City headquarters. This has no impact on [Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios], San Diego Studio which will continue to operate its normal course of business."
No details were revealed on just how many employees were laid off.
