Microsoft Expanding Subsidized Xbox 360 Offerings

October 23, 2012 -

Microsoft has expanded its subsidized Xbox 360 offer to include bigger and better models, according to this updated Xbox.com product page. Microsoft will soon offer the 250GB Xbox 360 for $99 or $149 with Kinect. The two new options join the original 4GB with Kinect option, which remains $99. The catch (as has already widely been detailed) is that those who buy these cheaper models will be obligated to pay $14.99 a month for an Xbox Live Gold account for two years.

Microsoft launched a test program in its 16 Microsoft stores back in July. After finding success they decided to expand the program to select retailers like Best Buy. With this new program we suspect that Microsoft is ready to put the subsidized Xbox 360 purchase plan into a broader range of U.S. retailers when it makes these new models available... the page even hints that it will offer a list of "participating retailers soon... We'll have more on this story as it develops.
