With 18 more days to go, Richard Garriott's Kickstarter campaign for Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues has surpassed its $1 million funding goal. With that challenge out of the way, Garriott and his studio Portalarium have added a few stretch goals. As of right now, the Kickstarter has generated $1,031,716 from nearly 15,000 backers.
As for the new stretch goals, Portalarium will add a pet system to the game if the Kickstarter reaches $1.1 million and seasonal weather if it reaches $1.2 million. If it makes it beyond that another stretch goal will be added. The pet system would add both "social" and "combat" pets into the game which players will be able to control with simple commands. Portalarium doesn't explain how seasonal weather would work in the game, but we assume it would mean rain and snow effects of some kind...
Portalarium also revamped the reward tiers with more stuff. There's an active discussion on both the stretch goals and the new reward tiers in the comments section of the Kickstarter.
