April 2, 2013 -

If you weren't able to attend the Curry College event a few weeks ago (it took place a day before PAX East in Cambridge Mass.) called "Video Gaming Panel Discusses Violence, Sexism and the Future of Gaming" then you can check out the video to your left or by visiting this link.

The panel was moderated by Professor Jerry Gibbs, chair of the Communication Department. He was joined by Dr. Robert MacDougall, Professor of Communication at Curry College and the coordinator of the Video Games Studies; Hal Halpin, President of the Entertainment Consumers Association; Jen MacLean, a video gaming industry executive and veteran of more than twenty years; and Amy Kaufman, an artist at the Tap Lab in Cambridge, MA.

The panel discusses everything from the supposed connection between video game violence and real-world violent crime, diversity of game characters and of those making them, and the future of the industry moving forward. Check it out.
