Activision UK has come out of court victorious in a case against a former PR executive and a consultant from Activision's external PR company, Frank PR. Two people, Activision PR executive Kathryn Kirton, and Frank PR consultant Jamie Kaye were found guilty of embezzling money from the company.
Both defendants pled guilty to one count of fraud, according to The Daily Mail. Activision PR executive Kathryn Kirton admitted to stealing £18,963 ($28,939.43), which she spent on clothing, several personal parties, and a two night getaway to some undisclosed (and obviously exotic) location. Frank PR consultant Jamie Kaye admitted to taking a total of £5,000, which he spent on six iPads and charges on his credit card for a Florida holiday. All of the spending took place over several months in 2010.
Kirton received an 18 month sentence suspended for two years and Kaye received a nine month sentence, suspended for 12 months and is also ordered to 80 hours of unpaid work.
