The Powell Group has inked a licensing partnership with IDW Publishing, America's fourth-largest comics publisher. The company will serve as the primary liaison between licensees in the video games industry and IDW's properties. The deal covers all platforms including current and next-generation console platforms and mobile devices.
IDW publishes comic books, graphic novels and trade paperbacks. The San Diego-based company has published a number of licensed and unlicensed properties including Hasbro’s The TRANSFORMERS, G.I. JOE and MY LITTLE PONY; Paramount’s Star Trek; Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; 2000AD’s Judge Dredd; The Rocketeer; Toho’s Godzilla; Wizards of the Coast’s Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons; HBO’s True Blood; and the Locke & Key series created by author Joe Hill and artist Gabriel Rodriguez.
IDW is also home to the Library of American Comics (which republishes classic comics), and Yoe! Books, a partnership with Yoe! Studio.
