All good things must come to an end, but some come to that end sooner than later. Sony Computer Entertainment announced today plans to take three of its PlayStation 3 games offline early next year. The three titles are MAG, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation, and SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs. The three titles will have their multiplayer support cut on Jan. 28, 2014, according to a tweet from the official PlayStation Twitter feed.
SOCOM Confrontation was released for PS3 in 2008, while MAG was released in 2010 and SOCOM 4 was closed in 2011. We assume that the games that are not multiplayer-only we still be playable offline, at least.
Advisory: Online multiplayer services for MAG, SOCOM Confrontation, and SOCOM 4 will be ending on 01/28/14

Re: Sony to Shutdown Multiplayer Services for Three PS3 ...
MAG is multiplayer only. I think SOCOM Confrontation is too.
This sucks. MAG was awesome, even if it didnt always live up to its promise in terms of player numbers.

I still think the developers of MAG missed a huge opportunity to make one faction a non-lethal faction. I would have bought it if they had.
