August 30, 2013 - GamePolitics Staff

Tilting Point has hired Tom Bass as its new Vice President of Marketing. Prior to joining the company Bass worked for video game publisher 2K Games, where he held the positions of Director of Marketing and Senior Director of Social Media and Consumer Relations. He worked there for the last eight years. According to Tilting Point, Bass will lead a team focused on mobile game marketing for the company’s portfolio of games.

While at 2K Games, Bass handled the marketing campaigns for BioShock, Sid Meier’s Civilization IV, Sid Meier’s Civilization V, Borderlands 2, and XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

"Our current and prospective developer partners know that skillful planning and execution on marketing is pivotal to the success of their games,” said Tom Frisina, Executive Chairman of Tilting Point. “They need an insightful and analytical leader they can trust to deliver innovative and high-impact marketing worthy of their creations. Tom Bass fills that role perfectly, enabling our partners to focus on what they do best – making awesome games.”

While some might called Tilting Point a "publisher," the company refers to itself as a partner with the game developers it works with. The company is currently working with Dark Nebula series creators 1337 Game Design; mobile developer Signal Mobile; Super Stardust, Outland, and Resogun developer Housemarque; and Toy Rush developer Uber Entertainment.
