Report: Apple to Unveil New iPad Oct. 29

October 9, 2013 - GamePolitics Staff

AllThingsD is reporting that Apple will reveal a new version of the iPad at the end of this month. At an event on Oct. 29, Apple will reveal the new iPad and make some other product announcements, according to the report.

The new iPad will be a lot thinner than previous versions of the tablet and will sport Apple's new 64-bit A7 chip, and an improved camera. The company's new fingerprint sensor, Touch ID, may also be put into the new iPad. Apple may also announce a newer version of its smaller iPad, the iPad mini. Reports suggest that it will get an upgraded retina display and a new A6 or A7 processor.

Apple will reportedly unveil a new Mac Pro and may take the wraps off OS X Mavericks as well.

Apple has not confirmed yet that this event will occur, but it makes sense given that it released the new iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C on September 20.

Oh no! You mean my iPad will be made redundant by one with a few more pixels and 0.2Ghz processing power? Or will this one fit snuggly in my car's glovebox?
