Read Only Memories has raised a little over a third of what it is seeking in its Kickstarter campaign. Launched last week, the crowd funding campaign for the sci-fi themed adventure game from MidBoss Games has raised $21,840 of its $62,064 goal from 489 backers with 24 more days to go.
MidBoss Games is a studio formed by the organizers of the LGBTQ annual gaming event GaymerX. The game is described as a cyberpunk point-and-click adventure game set in a future San Francisco (circa 2064) featuring a wide variety of characters that includes gays, lesbians, and transgendered folk. MidBoss Games says that the game's design is heavily influenced by the best 90's adventure games such as Sam & Max, Maniac Mansion, Snatcher, and The Secret of Monkey Island.
The developers of Read Only Memories are seeking funds from the community to complete development and test the game on Mac, PC, iOS, Android and Ouya systems. Additional stretch goals are planned, and will enable the team to bring the game to more platforms including Linux, Steam, PS4, Xbox One, PS Vita, and Wii U.

On a related note, MidBoss Games will be hosting a Google + hangout Read Only Memories Q&A at 3 PM EST (Noon PST), where it will reveal the first bit of gameplay footage.
