White Xbox One Auction Generates $11,300 for Wounded Warrior Project

November 19, 2013 - GamePolitics Staff

The eBay charity auction of a limited edition white Xbox One has generated $11,300 for the Wounded Warrior Project charity, according to CVG. The special edition console is being given out to Microsoft employees when the Xbox One launches later this week in 21 markets including the United States. The auction on eBay began at $1, but by Nov. 11 it has earned a bid of $11,200 that held until Nov 18 when the winning bid took it for $11,300.

The model auctioned on eBay for charity includes a special white system, a white controller, a standard black Kinect, a year of Xbox Live and copies of Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct and Crimson Dragon.

Another white console was auctioned off earlier in November on eBay for UK industry charity GamesAid.

Microsoft's Larry Hryb has indicated that the company may bring white Xbox One systems to retail at some point, but not in the near future.

Xbox One will launch in 21 select markets on Friday.
