Activision Claims Call of Duty: Ghosts is the Best-Selling PS4 Game So Far

November 20, 2013 - GamePolitics Staff

According to an announcement made by Activision today, Call of Duty: Ghosts is the best-selling PS4 game so far. The PlayStation 4 launched on Nov. 15, and the PS4 version of Call of Duty: Ghosts was launched on the same day. The game is also available for last-generation consoles and PC, with an Xbox One version launching at the end of this week. The company cited sales data from top North American retailers including Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Wal-Mart.

"We couldn't be more excited about the consumer response as we look forward to this Friday's release of Xbox One. As we've said before, it's a great time to be a gamer, and a great time for Call of Duty fans," Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said.

Activision did not provide any details regarding how well Call of Duty: Ghosts is selling through the PS4's digital store, nor did it detail how many of those sales are related to the $10 "upgrade" for those who already purchased the PlayStation 3 version of the game.

The company also did not provide specific sales numbers. I guess we're just going to have to take their word for it, right?
