'To The Death' Tech Demo Released

January 31, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

Developers Scary Mostro and Section Studios have released a tech demo for their game, To The Death, in the hopes that it will drum up interest within the community to fund development of the arcade style game which blends the best of the "beat’em and shoot’em up" genres. The demo is available for Mac, Windows, and Linux. You can read more about it on the To The Death Kickstarter page.

To The Death is being developed by seasoned veterans from two different studios: Scary Mostro and Section Studios; and will feature music from Logan Mader and sound design from movie and game industry veterans at Formosa Interactive. Collectively, this team has worked on such games as Call of Duty 2, Modern Warfare 1 and 2, Titanfall, Parasite Eve, Final Fantasy IX, the God of War series, and many other titles at various high profile studios.

Currently the Kickstarter has raised $31,605 of the $400,000 goal, with 19 more days to go.

Dragging your sword over rocks SHARPENS it?

Video game logic.

Also, why don't all the attacking locals just get out of the way, let the two reach the middle, beat each other to a pulp, and then swoop in to pick off the wounded victor?

Back to the game narrative drawing board.

Seriously, though, it looks very fun.

How do you think they sharpen blades?

Hint ,they call it a sharpening stone for a reason.

Sharpening stones are used at about a twenty degree bevel angle per side. What angle did the video show?

What will a 90 degree angle drag do to a sharpened edge?

Hint, they call it dulling.
