Ubisoft Confirms Watch Dogs Wii U Delay

February 10, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

Ubisoft confirmed during its earning call today that the Wii U version of Watch Dogs has been delayed significantly, coming out well after the game releases on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.

Those versions of the game will release this spring (the period between April and June), according to Ubisoft, but Watch Dogs for the Wii U will not be released until much later. How much later? Ubisoft was pretty coy about an exact date, saying only that it would be released at "a later date" after the release of other versions of the game.

Today's news confirms reports in late January that the Wii U version of the game had disappeared from GameStop's pre-order database. At the time GameStop said that the removal of the game was a "glitch." It turns out that it wasn't a glitch after all and was more likely the result of the retailer simply not having a date for the game...

Well Ubi Soft, if the game fails to sell then you know who to blame... YOURSELF.

Re: Ubisoft Confirms Watch Dogs Wii U Delay

Ubisoft should delay every version until the Wii U version is ready, as an apology for delaying Rayman Legends two weeks before street date.

Of course, what they'll ACTUALLY do is delay the Wii U version a few months, sell it for $60 when the other versions are $20, give it little or no DLC, remove online functionality, never patch bugs, then blame Wii U owners for it not selling well.
