AbleGamers Founder to Speak at SXSW

March 4, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

AbleGamers Charity Founder and Executive Director, Mark Barlet, will deliver a keynote at SXSW this month. Bartlet's speech will be delivered at the SXSW Long Center March 8, 2014 from 12:30 – 1:30. All SXSW participants are welcome and the talk itself is open to the public. AbleGamers encourages all developers and gamers to attend. A brief Q & A will be held after the event.

“We’ve learned a lot from the industry’s top design professionals,” said Mark Barlet, Founder and Executive Director of the AbleGamers Charity. “We’ve heard incredibly heartwarming stories from the industry’s most prominent developers. We’ve met with some of the most inspiring gamers with disabilities. And we’ve taken these experiences and combined them into a roadmap showing developers the best ways to reach the extremely underserved market of gamers who are no different from any other gamer except they just happened to be disabled and need a few extra options.”

“By connecting the needs of the disabled gaming community with the expertise of both disabled and able-bodied developers, we make this beautiful junction of experience, where gamers express their needs, developers discuss possibilities, and together we all make inclusion a reality,” concluded Barlet.
