Layoffs Hit Sega's London Offices

April 9, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

Sega announced today that it has cut a small number of jobs from its European office in London as part of a larger consolidation plan for the company's Sonic and mobile divisions.

"Sega is in the process of consolidating certain functions of the Sonic and Mobile departments within Sega of America, where the management and production for those areas of the business reside," a Sega representative told Polygon. "As part of that strategy a limited number of redundancies have taken effect in our European office, based in London."

Sega's Sonic Team, Big Red Button, and Sanzaru Games are currently working on Sonic Boom for Wii U and 3DS. The game will launch alongside an all-new toy line and a TV show later this year.
