Ed Boon: Zero Percent Chance of Mortal Kombat Classic Coming to Wii U Virtual Console

If you were hoping to see Mortal Kombat classics come to the Wii U Virtual Console, we have some bad news for you: it's not going to happen. Way back before the Wii U was released, Mortal Kombat series creator and NetherRealm Studios director Ed Boon expressed interest in bringing the series to the Nintendo console. In an interview with GameTrailers, Boon said:

"When thinking about the Wii U and controller, I would like to think we will do something innovative and cool. We are all very excited. Whenever there is new hardware we start to think on a bigger scale. When you see that screen and controller in there, to me things start connecting in terms of what we can do with our game, enhancing the experience."

But that was then and this is now. When asked recently on Twitter if Mortal Kombat would be coming to the Virtual Console for Wii U, Boon said there was a zero percent chance:

That's cool.  We'd all rather have the arcade versions anyway!
